number one thing I have against posted stats.....people stop playing for fun, and worry too much about spreadsheets.

Screw the numbers...... play how it makes you actually ENJOY the game.

Truth. As it is, I giggle at the stats...I spend most of my "tryhard" time in CW with my boys, doing my best to help carry...and CW isn't counted in the Tier calculation lol.

In pug matches? That's where I experiment with ****. Sometimes it's great, sometimes I fail miserably...and sometimes when I know OTHERS are experimenting I'll tryhard-up and carry lol.

This enjoyment of crazy-ass builds in public queues and occasional carrying seats me firmly in Tier 2, lol. Nowhere near Tier 1.

I'm more disheartened by the lack of build variety and the super mega laser vomit BS everywhere...or your banshee just nearly got cored by a single mech in a single alpha blast.. have a nice day..

in all honestly, ignore the number, they should have never added because of this kind of thing. People get caught on up that and only that. Try to have fun playing however you want to play and just remember your lasers.

and this....the biggest joy is just playing around with weird builds even though you know they will suck against just about everything.

Playing around with joke builds and being tier 2 or 3 hits home player skill maybe I'm just bad. I'll screen shot when I get home and put up stats for opinions. Both archived and current to see what happened and what I'm doing wrong.

It not that the number I'm in that bothers me. It the way the comunity treat those with the number.

In the less than 24 hours since PSR was available to us, I have not seen any flaming based on Tier. Not to say it will never happen, but I haven't seen it yet.

There's been no singling out of specific people but the attitude is there in other forums. It's only a matter of time.

tryhards are just MAD cuz they BAD IRL, and their mommy never hugs them, so they treat people like crap over their imaginary video game awards, because it's all they have to cling to as a "success" in life.

The exceptions are pretty self apparent by their lack of need to act as swaggering dbags on stompy game forums.

Treat them as such, and it's pretty easy to ignore their epeenions.

This is absolutely true. :)

Well the truth is that us higher tier players (or at least in my case) need you t4/5 guys around. Whenever I feel bored of using my more serious builds I go grab a lot of my t4/t5 friends to lower the group PSR so that I can relax a bit and be stupid with them. Thanks for your valued part in the game. ;)

I have watched the bar react to my games and its like a EVERQUEST1 XP bar ... do good matches and it goes up SLOW, do not soooo good and it goes down a bit again... if you play enough games and overall you do more often good then not then ALL will be Tier 1 after thousands of games like all became lvl 60 back in 1999 it just takes TIME.

This is a big problem if that is how it works. PSR should segregate the population into buckets respective of everyone's skill level--and the factor it uses to determine each bucket should be floating and adapt to the community and their changing ability with the game.

There should always be divisions and never should we see everyone in tier one.

meh, that attitude was already there, nothing has changed as far as I can tell. if anything the large number of well known players that are now known to be T1 has made the "T1 club" a lot less exclusive than I think people thought it would be lessening the epeen effect if you will.

I'd be too bored to play only my effective mechs to get to Tier 1 and I don't see what is wrong with being a lower tier until they decide to implement per mech variant PSR.

I can only watch people die instantly to Dual Gauss + 6 CMPL so many times before wanting to do something stupid like use SRMs.

Sounds like you want to club seals lol.

I want to see someone climb from tier 5 to tier 1 in an urbanmech. I'd attempt but I don't have the time to play enough.

if you are good enough to club seals in joke builds I don't have a problem with it. If you go in with your vomit META builds to club then it doesn't really prove much.

My only complaint with PSR is how damage is so grossly important compared to everything else. Now, I am not saying it shouldn't be important, or even the largest number. But having 1/2 your damage score add to your matchscore is pretty one sided. I would prefer if they rescaled the system and only used 10% of your damage score, so all the other numbers had a greater impact. Getting 20-40 points for capping on Conquest is nothing- it's the equivalent of doing 80 damage.

I believe the OP said he piloted a Raven with NARC and TAG- I would argue it is nearly impossible to get to Tier 1 using a mech like that. The rewards are not there, and you sacrifice so much damage potential that you will always be low Tier, regardless of the effect you can have on a match.

As a seal 12-0 clubbing sucks. 12-8 not so bad. I'm betting tier 5 is full of solo mode players more than anything else. This game is so teamwork reliant with 12v12 failing to work together always looses. I don't think I'll make it out of tire five due to winning gets you the highest PSR advance. Herding cats here I come lol. Now if they'd fix my VoIP it'd be all good.

Doesn't matter what your tier. Some times you have good games and do super rare things like 800 damage in a panther or you die seconds into a match when a guass mech takes out your urbie. I'd rather use a fun mech such as the ac 20 raven 4x with only 21 shots in my xl 200 engine and do something like do over 90 damage and 3 kill assist one match then maybe 0 kills and lots of spoting the next match.
