The Clans have the Atlas II , all Atlas 2 and thier pilots left the IS with Kerensky during the Exodus. Kerensky had an all Clan weapon component version. YES it had ECM and an Active probe 4 energy, 1 ballistic, 2 srm launcher and 19 double clan heatsinks. Word of Blake resurrected the design for IS in 3070. Clan Atlas 2 spotted during the Battle of Tukkayid.

Think it lack hard points to compete in the current king of the hill. It'd hit hard again like in the eight man days.

I thought Kerensky used an Orion....

Quote

The Orion was built in 2456 as the first true heavy BattleMech. Originally designed for the Terran Hegemony to maintain its dominance and built on Hesperus II, the Orion is a dependable workhorse design that can handle almost any combat role, thanks to its mix of long- and short-range weaponry and its respectable armoring. After the K model was introduced in 2525 the 'Mech first saw combat during the Reunification War and continued to serve the Star League and its Member States for the next few centuries. Perhaps its most famous role was as the personal 'Mech of Aleksandr Kerensky during the Amaris Civil War, and it was while piloting his Orion that the general kicked down the palace doors to take the Usurper prisoner.

Look up Atlas II on Sarna it specifically names Kerensky Atlas. He like all of us had many mechs.

He did, but it was so badly damaged that the chassis was scrapped before the Exodus.

However, it was also found in a junkyard later and restored to 3025-tech standards (rather than Royal) and became the graduation gift to then-Heir Theodore Kurita. It later got downed playing decoy in a Steiner artillery bombardment with another Legion of Vega pilot at the helm.

In 2785, when General Aleksandr Kerensky put out his call for loyal forces to join him in his Exodus, every Atlas II pilot responded and left with him, leaving none of these designs behind. These 'Mechs are prized by the Clans when they were found. One such 'Mech was spotted in 3052 during the Battle of Tukayyid.

AS7-D-H Kerensky
The custom version used by Nicholas Kerensky, this version of the Atlas II retains the weapon array of the original but swaps the Inner Sphere components for more advanced Clan equivalents. It also adds a second SRM launcher. All the missile systems are equipped with Artemis IV fire control systems. Double heat sinks were replaced with their less bulky Clan equivalents and increased to nineteen. The ferro-fibrous armor protection remains the same, but again was replaced by more compact Clan version. To handle electronic warfare duties, a small ECM Suite and Active Probe were added to the center torso. The CASE systems were integrated into the side torsos, as was common to all Clan designs. BV (2.0) = 2,777

Oh, THAT Kerensky......

Um...if the two were similar, we'd be looking for the return of Kesmai of old, bringing forth a new MechWarrior online of unity and peace to the torn factions of the playerbase.

(And then EA would attempt a hostile takeover of PGI and end up with part ownership.)

You are getting two different Kerensky's mixed up. Alexandr Kerensky piloted an Orion and abandoned it in the periphery. He led the SLDF exodus but did not found the clans. Upon his death, a second exodus was led by his son Nicholas Kerensky, who is the founder of the Clans. Nicholas is the noted Atlas II pilot.

Kerensky didn't drive an Atlas.

Atlas II is a different Chassis.

I don't think an Atlas with Clan tech would be OP.
Lasers on the arms = have to expose more of the mech to even use them.
Ballistics = The weakest weapons of the clans and are inferior too IS weapons.
Missiles = The only thing this atlas would be able to use effectively and have it be better than the default Atlas.

So no it wouldn't be OP. more like...completely equal too the IS atlases.

Kerensky was a scrub. He just joined a good unit and was fun in ts so people followed him. Like most guild leaders he was a middling player who collected as many top tier players as he could to run with him and inflate his stats.

He's certainly no "hero". The most important event in his history was him getting a bunch of people together and running away, then Kickstarting a society of fascist slaver sociopaths with animal and eugenics fetishes. In terms of villains he did more to destroy and degrade human civilization than anyone but maybe WoB, and that's debatable.

The only real change over the normal Atlas is the Atlas II has its ballistic mounted in the right arm. The Atlas RS is basically a Succession War analog of the Atlas II just with the ballistic torso mounted as normal.
