So, was a little surprised I ended up at Tier 4, as I felt I was pretty average. But then again, I'm barely playing now, and when I'm not grinding a mech I'm usually in my ECM Spider. I don't have the time or inclination to join a unit, and I don't choose to try to herd cats when no one else steps up.

Result: While my W/L is about even, my K/D sucks

It bothered me for a few minutes, but I got over it.

Know why? Because it ultimately isn't going to change the way I play the game.

The people crowing about their Tier 1ness? Most of them are perfectly happy to have their skill level and don't feel a need to rub it in other's faces. Those that do were *already* insulting people for not joining a unit, being on TeamSpeak, and slavishly following the meta.

My response to them is going to be the same as I was last week: Eat me. I play to have fun. Doing all the work necessary to be competitive with the people playing 30 hours a week is not fun.

So, how has the Tier publication changed anything? Does it make people who were previously good teamplayers into raging cockholes? Unlikely.

Are the people who are already jerks going to have more ammunition? Doubtlessly. But these people would be ******** *without* additional information.

So, if someone gives you grief because of your tier, the odds are they would have found something else to whine about if there were no stats at all.

And if someone out here thinks less of me because of my participation in Clan FourTier? *shrug* Ok, but I certainly hope you're not under the impression that your views mean a damn thing to me. But more power, crazy obsessive MWO player - get whatever satisfaction you can out of life.

I'll get satisfaction out of *life*. Which is probably better than yours, if the high point of your existence is e-pee

I had a very similar post. Upset at first, but then realized that even if I am tier 4, who cares. I'm still having fun.

And if someone starts waving their tier level in my face and lording it over me, well, then its just an easy tell to ignore them and that they aren't worth my time.

If you don't use your best meta mechs much or drop with a good team to get lots of wins then you won't be high tier- but that's good. If you like dropping in the solo queue with varied mechs then you'll most likely be far better off playing with teams who won't generally scorn your non-meta ride and enemies who won't necessarily insta-focus you every match.

I'm relishing the fact that I'm tier 5. Anyone that's played more than a few matches with me knows I'm a decent player. So now that I have a wall between me and the Tier 1s (are the Tier 2s also blocked from my games?) I'm going batshit crazy on people.

Bring on easy street. lol

We don't exactly know where the lines were drawn. I've always thought of myself as being an average pilot too. Without knowing how wide the brackets are for each tier, we can't really say Tier 4 isn't where average pilots belong. And I agree. I think Tier 4 & 5 are going to be the most fun for casual players like me. I actually kinda wish I was Tier 5.
