There's probably something simple that I'm overlooking. But I'd appreciate your help in understanding why I get charged a non-refundable 125K CBills when I try to loadout my Hellbringer with an omnipod that I already own.

I can show you the problem in three screenshots from my MechLab...

1. Here's my Hellbringer B, with no omnipods equipped. You can see that I already own a Hellbringer Prime Left Torso ominpod and it's available in my Warehouse.

2. Here's what happens when I put the Hellbringer Prime Left Torso, which I already own, onto the Hellbringer. Suddenly, I'm charged 125K CBills.

3. Even if I then remove that omnipod and put it back in the Warehouse, the 125k CBill charge remains.

Like I said: there's probably something simple here that I'm overlooking. But I can't work out what it is.

Can anyone help me understand why I get charged 125K CBills to put an omnipod that I already own onto a chassis that I already own, and don't get those 125K CBills back when I take the omnipod back off?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Your missile system is being changed from "artemis" to "standard".

Ah, so it is, thanks.

Now, I wonder why it's changing my missile system when I equip an omnipod without missiles into an empty component that had no missiles?

I'll hop in the Mech Lab and see I can change it back to Artemis.

Thanks again.

Artemis changed be changed at will on any mech, clan included. It's really the only thing you have free reign over interms of upgrade on clan side.

As for why it does it? No ******* idea.

I tested a bit myself real quick in the store.
It seems to switch back to standard missile guidance if artemis is upgraded and you put an omni WITHOUT a missile slot first.

I tried it with an arm and no missile slot anywhere, went back to standard.
tried putting a missile omnipod first, stayed artemis.

Not really sure why it forgets its upgrade.

Well, I'm not sure why PGI is messing with the Artemis setting honestly.

Basically, you're not supposed to be able to change it once you remove every missile omnipod you have. You can actually add/remove Artemis by temporarily inserting a missile omnipod... which isn't exactly "broken" (sometimes you want to intentionally leave Artemis enabled even if you have no missile hardpoints at the time - you can tweak it later on your own).

The issue really is something PGI changed for some arbitrary reason (basically, Artemis is defaulting to off when no missile hardpoint is equipped).

Go figure.

Not really. It just depends on which kind of omni pod gets inserted first.

Omni has missile slot? Nothing happens.
Omni has NO missile? Goes back to standard.

We're pretty much saying the same thing.

Hmmm yeah.

It reverts back to standard if no missile slots are present.

Stupid as ****
