Well, the senile old Duchess did disagree...and her inability to accept the truth led to the decimation of many a great Andurien pilot in her defense.

But she has been gone these last 8 years and the Duchy with her.

We've had House Liao begging to us to form an alliance back in the 1st Succession War.
Heck, even House Marik *and* House Steiner considered it at that time, because we kicked House Davion's buttocks that hard (1 Jump away from New Avalon). The only reason that House Davion existed after that was because Minoru Kurita disregarded Jinjiro's advice.
