I'm looking at the graph that PGI put out explaining how your PSR rises and falls based on win/loss and whether your match score was low/med/high.
Does anyone know if these stats are weighted re Light/Med/Heavy/Assault?
It seems the majority of your match score is based on damage dealt. I have to work hard get 300+ damage in a light, whereas in an Assault I can get 300+ by accident.

Doubt it. Deciding factors, insofar as I gleaned from Paul's post, is win/loss and match score.

Yep. If you want to get to the coveted Tier 5 position play lots of Commandos/Locusts.

Your 'mech's Weight Class does NOT figure in the calculations at all AFAIK.
It does though. I am sure if you put a graph with weight class and damage numbers the bigger "mechs" on average will have more damage. As damage is overwhelming a huge part of the rating, bigger mechs are indeed better. Heavy mechs seems to be the sweet spot and also strangely enough the class that is most played.....

Yes. However, it does not say whether there are differences in the match score calculation for different weight classes.
If weight class is not taken into account then I think the entire PSR system is broken since it is essentially impossible to score as highly (on a regular basis) in a light mech as it is in an assault (due to the bias on damage and the vulnerability of the light mech). This means that folks who play assaults and heavies are more likely to have a higher PSR. In which case the PSR does not reflect the player ability as it is supposed to do but instead reflects the abilities of the mechs they choose to play.
If that is the case then the system is borked and will never do what PGI wants and claims it does.
