Sorry for my noobish question, I log in today and haven't played anything in like 6 months or so and now I have some sort of XP bar or something. I've scanned forums, is this some sort of indication of amounts of games played?
It say Tier 3 and the bar is filled like 40%, though it doesn't say what max tier is or what lowest tier is.
It also shows my pilot name / username and some title.
Or is tier system like mmr?
Thanks in advance.

Tiers were introduced a month ago to replace the Elo system to better place players with similar experience. Its not really a skill system but the better you play, the higher you go up but more dependent on how many games you play.

It's your personal PowerLevel.
See this diagram for more in-depth reference:
There are 5 tiers, with the lower numbers representing a higher PowerLevel. T5 is the lowest and T1 is the highest.

I still want to play this "Gundam Wing Online" that this picture references. Can I pilot the Wing Zero Custom from Endless Waltz?

Tier is a whole lot of nothing.
It's an XP bar nothing more, people that are good at the game will get to Tier 1 faster, those that are not so good, will get there slower, only the really really bad will never get there if the game lasts long enough, and the person doesn't get bored.
Basically it's months of work utterly wasted..
