I run almost only IS mechs but have two Clan ones. I was looking at my stats and noticed that Clan Streak 6s (the only clan streaks I have fielded) are running 69.12% accuracy while my IS Streak 2s are at 52.92% accuracy. About a 16% difference. Wierd.

too many variables come into play and this will never be properly determined. You can run test, and correlate results but i suspect the results will be non-correlative.

All my IS mechs save for my ECM lights and the Cicada run AMS. And many of my Clan mechs also run AMS.

It is probably a combination of Clan STREAK range being 360m vs IS 270m plus if your missile mounts are low your missiles tend to snag terrain and friendlies. For my Summoner STREAK boat I have to jump way up to clear cover.

There are hills and buildings and bigger engines. Why?

SRMs suck....

Accuracy so low, a blunderbuss full of fish pebbles would be more effective.

Because it helps cover allies, maybe? I know that is where most of my AMS ammo goes unless I am trying to sneak or everyone is under cover and have it disabled.

OP you do not have higher accuracy with your Streaks, you have higher hit ratios. If you had higher accuracy you streaks would not be scattering randomly across the target.

Force of habit when LRMs were 1.7 damage each. A single AMS can completely defeat harassing LRM5 attacks, while the reducing the effects of larger LRM attacks. Plus if team has AMS on top of that - it can significantly or in some cases completely eliminate the LRM attack.

So can hard cover. I really don't remember the last time I ran AMS on anything. It's tonnage better spent almost anywhere else.
