So it says to unlock the master tier skill you need to unlock all elite skills on 3 variants first, but for some reason most of my mechs (not all) can randomly unlock the master skill with just all basic skills unlocked on 3 variants but all elites on only 1 (the one that can than unlock the master skill).

Does anyone know what the actual system for unlocking the master skill or is it just randomly whichever way the code bugs up for that specific mech.

Also a funny thing is that a week ago i had master skill unavailable for my pirates bane with having all basics unlocked on 3 locusts. My pirates bane had all elites unlocked but master skill was locked up and even though i didnt do a single game on my pirates bane or did anything with any other locust (both of which i already sold ages ago) today i noticed that miraculously the master skill on my pirates bane is now available to be unlocked. :o

You just need basic on all three of the chassis to elite or master any of them. You need to get elite on any three mechs in the same weight class before you can master a mech though.

Or to sum it up:

1) You need Basics on 3 different variants from the same mechs to unlock access to Elite skills (this is always required)

2) You need to finish Elite on 3 mechs within the same weight class to unlock access to the Master skill (normally this would mean 3 varaints of the same mech, but this is not actually a requirement, they could be 3 different mechs from within the same weight class [Light, Medium, Heavy, Assault], but they would still need to conform to rule 1.

3) Rule 2 need only be done ONCE for each weight class (Light, Medium, Heavy, Assault). After this you will be able to access the Master skill straight from Elite. This is not influenced by selling mechs, so you don't need to actually have 3 Elited mechs of the same weight class in your stable.

So if you prefer a certain weight class you can encounter the restrictions of rule 2 while trying to level a mech from another weight class, simply because you had never Elited 3 mechs from that weight class before. (and the memory of doing so for your favorite weight class has been buried somewhere)
