Remember Gents (and some Ladies I suppose), it's not the size of the throttle that counts, it's how you use it.

Oh and if the devs ever manage to balance mouse VS Joystick (WindowsLive VS XBOX) than I'll see you on the field with my X52 Pro!

razer have some amazing peripherals but damn they are expensive. I'm hoping the screen will be like the numberpad on the swtor keyboard (http://www.razerzone.../swtor/keyboard). that keyboard is an great bit of tech. you can use the lcd on the numberpag to watch youtube videos so as your playing in game. you dont have to tab out to watch a walk through or check the forums. the lcd on Artemis is allot bigger but i dont know if its going to be a touch screen or not.

i shudder to think how much it will cost but i got a feeling its going to be well worth it.

Smartphone or a tablet if you have one. I usually use my tablet for my 2nd screen.

Well, I wouldn't classify a $200 as only for the rich. But if you work for a living and have a fun-money allocation it wouldn't be hard to save up for, but only if it's important to you. As a disclaimer, this doesn't necessarily apply to parents, lol.

I'm actually planning on selling my Steel Battalion rig to afford it. From one big *** mech controller to another....

Real estate is another consideration... I wonder how the wife is gonna like me having another big *** controller that doesn't sit in a box in storage? =)

And I really don't see them releasing for under $200... with a big *** screen, two hands of controls, and force feedback I bet they're going to retail $200-$300.

Why would they even come up with a $200+ game controller system in these economic depressing times?

That is not smart imo.

It doesn't exist, so I've purchased another option.

Too late...

I already have a good jobstick. I probably wouldn't buy the Artemis if I didn't though: why spend so much money on a specialized system when you can get a more versatile joystick for about the same?
Also, I bought an expensive Razer mouse a while ago. It is a good mouse, but after a few months it started to have some quirks. In my opinion you pay mostly for the look, not so much for the quality.

I have to admit though, the large screen and the mechanical buttons on the left console look quite good.

Go around the forums and tell me how many Legendary Founder tags you see, and then ask me why they'd release it =)

Now see, what I would do if I got rudder pedals (seriously considering it, but don't have the cash at the moment) is set them to the legs, and have torso control on my joystick. That's the way I always run in the Firestorm pods, and it feels a lot better than using a twisting stick for torso-twist.

The Artemis itself does look interesting, but I have a Saitek X52 that works quite well for me, and I'd much rather spring for pedals than another large joystick at the moment.

I had a look at this today but my first and immediate thought was.. where is the mouse? Yes.. it's fine to use the joystick to turn and move the mech.. but for precise and quick aiming you really need the mouse (imo). Having the little screen is a cool gimmick.. but that info is already displayed on the screen where my eyes will be glued... as for the extra buttons.. well.. yer.. I just can't see the value in it other than something cool.. it doesn't really give that much of an advantage unless you already have a specific playstyle..

I just wish it was available as just a joystick.. maybe with a small LCD screen, like a Logitech G15 keyboard has..

I have the Saitek X52.. hoping this will work for MWO too.. I would still love to have a little LCD or something though :)

Hmmm... makes me think I should go with a joystick + Nostromo instead of a HOTAS... if the devs think we're going to need that many buttons, anyway...

If there's support for auxiliary displays, I suppose I could get a little 9" 1024x768 VGA out of some POS somewhere and stick that underneath my main screen.

I think you're hi lighting (white?) a decorative nub. I think the throttle is a little bar on the left hand, just to the side of the mechanical switches.

I have a G15 keyboard ($100 or so on ebay) that has an LCD screen with minimal data, be it for your computer, or in game. It has six macro keys on the far left, with three different preset channels (18 programmable keys). I think this'll suit me just fine.

Now, what I *really* want to do is get that 21" Viewsonic touchscreen so I can interact directly with the game.

*Edit* Also, I want a Push To Talk button for voice chat.

Back in the Day, MW2 days that is. I was never able to get a throttle, I was a teenager, too young to have a job, parents said no. So I ended up using two joysticks. So I'm going that route again. Left hand driving left and right and throttle. right hand torso up, down, rotate. I'm hopping I can do that.

So while the Artemis looks nice and all. The touch screen seems overkill. Throttle and button layout just seems funky If the price is in 200-300+ No a deal. I'll go with the logitech G940, If was dropping that kind of money on a joystick. .
