RageRant in spoiler
Spoiler
Is it in the rules to like report people for not playing the game and instead just bitching?
Edit: By not playing I mean literally not playing. Their mech may as well not had a pilot in it because they let the enemy kill them without moving at all. As far as I am aware this is griefing.

Review TOS and see what it says about player actions. I am sure they specify "hate language", "abuse" and "trolling". Have fun taking screen shots and making the email if the actions fit a pattern PGI has identified.

Not jerky players do not respond well to the threat of being reported, but that may be considered harassment (lol).

I guess that depends on if they're ACTUALLY trolling, or if you're just labelling everything you don't like as "bitching", "complaining", and "trolling"

The former is pretty rare.

The latter seems to be what's actually happening with 99.999% of the MWO community.

Snitches get stitches.

I mean really, if he was dropping racial slurs, or threatening someone, or team killing people thats one thing.

To be completely fair, I saw Tina in a game the other day, and people were dropping the F bomb. Its the context. If theyre not hurting anyone, or intentionally disrupting the game, disconnecting, teamkilling, theres really nothing to report about. Just because you dont like it, doesnt mean they should be reported and have to go through the heavy handed moderation this community is known for (in the past at least, Niko...Garth...).

If they WERE intentionally making your experience less pleasant as well as your teammates, by all means report that guy. Thats not the people we need in the community. But from just the quote....thats just a bittervet being a bittervet.

i do play the Salty Warrior from time to time.. i think i'm not ruining someonelse's game that anyway... so no. True griefers should just be reported... intentional team damage, intentional blocking

I have no problem with people venting/complaining in game, usually. I had an unbelievably bad run a weekend or two ago, and I have to say, I devolved into some pretty heavy complaining. Not proud of it, but I was so helpless in my mech, I needed to blow off some steam. As long as people aren't abusive, I see nothing wrong with it.

We all have our games were we "break down". It happens.
I'm guilty of doing it less than an hour ago when I was in a team against you.

If you truly believe they deserve it, then send a report.

I don't have a problem with textwarriors. Ever played a moba? MWO is bliss of heaven. I really don't know what you're talking about, honestly.

If I have a problem with anything is capwarrior and sitaroundatonespotandgetanhillatedwarrior.

It's better not to engage them. They type more. And unless there is indeed a rule against spending too much time typing, you can't do anything about it. Better to just do your best and move on to the next match.

I will sometimes be provocative to the other team to get them typing rather than fighting but only if I have time in the match. Sitting on your duff to type is just stupid and suicidal.

Remember chat is a psy ops tool and is part of warfare.

Turn off Team Chat, all chat...most of the time I only have Lance chat on. With VOIP if someone has something to say they can say it, and if I don't like it I mute em.

There is no reason to get upset at what people chat or say in MWO because there are ways to eliminate seeing/hearing built into the game....

I wish you could block users spamming chat with QQ. You can mute if they're using VoIP, but I'd like to be able to see relevant info without it getting overwhelmed by a wall of bitching.

I wish player muting was remembered from match to match. That would solve almost all of these problems.

I can ignore someone on the forums and never see their posts. But Im stuck 5 drops in a row with the guy who keeps questioning my sexuality because I dont want to hit 'R' for him.

I dont want to send that poor guy to the ban hammer. I just want to ignore him, permanently.

You see 99% of the time what people have to say is constructive feedback after they have died. Even if it is in a really bitchy tone I don't care they're critiquing/letting off steam and that's fine. When it crosses the line is when they from the start of the match nonstop grief. That's what I was referring to and that's what I'm willing to report.

The only grief I get is from PGI

They keep turning my chat off, so when your dead and you see a UAV you can’t warn anyone

Earlier today there was a guy taking fire from two sides I was trying to keep one side off him with my LRMs
I even hit Q to get his name saying "joe blow get out of there"

Well turned out he had his chat muted so he got killed and me along with him

If I had my way I would have an opt out button if people don’t want to use chat I don’t want to play with them

Especially in CW
