Hello,

I would like to know if/how clan mechs can be upgraded/downgraded when it comes to:

- endo steel
- ferro fibrous
- engine
- jump jets

It appears that all the versions of a same chassis share the same setup for the above items. Still, I have seen a Stormcrow jumping in game, and none of the versions I see have jump jets.

(another small question: how much value is lost when buying and selling a mech?)

You were delusional when you thought you saw a Stormcrow jumping. Some Omnis have all variants with jets, some have the S pods with jets, some have no jets at all. Stormcrow is one with no jets at all.

Half value is lost in selling.

you cannot change those on omnimechs, you will be able to do it on the upcoming iic clan mechs, but you will not be able to switch hardpoints on those, they will be essentially battlemechs with clan tech; so, omnimechs (currently it's all clan mechs) can switch hardpoints, battlemechs (currently it's all inner sphere mechs) can switch upgrades and engines and don't have any fixed equipment

you can switch omnipods which have jj and those which don't have jj, so you can have your omni with different sets of jump jets or without jump jets at all, it's possible on cute fox, timber wolf and dire wolf, not possible on mist lynx, arctic cheetah, shadow cat, nova, summoner and executioner since they do not have jj-free versions, other clan mechs don't have jj at all

half value but you lose the value of upgrades and by default it doesn't sell the mech equipment with the mech, so it's half value of the bare chassis and it will propose you a ridiculously low sum, check your inventory on the home tab

Thank you guys, But just to be precise, I am actually sure that it was a Stormcrow because I had been killed and I was watching someone else piloting it, so I had plenty of time to look at the chassis name and see what he could do. We could use jump jets, he was doing it often, with the usual sound and all.. it wasn't falling I trust you that this is not currently possible, maybe it was some Pirana webmaster trting out something new. Seeing it in fact confused me quite a bit!

You know the rule of the internet:

If you remember the 'Mech type, and that it's not supposed to have jets, then you should remember the name of the pilot so you can report it to the devs. Do so. They will investigate.

For the record, my bet is still the delusional thing. I have never seen a 'Mech that's not supposed to have jets suddenly having jets. And I've been here since the first public Closed Beta days.

well it's clearly a mistake on your part or possibly a visual bug (?)
devs have a private test server for testing and such a cheat is, i bet, completely impossible

btw falling without jj you can pull tricks similar to those with using jj, for instance you can jump from an apparel running, turn in the fly and shoot your enemy between obstacles etc

You sure it wasn't a shadow cat or something?
The crow cannot jump, at all.
