Certainly, a bit late now but your can get real(ish) mechs in a kickstarter game called Mech Deck.

But Mech Deck looks like it is a combination between Battletech: Dark Ages aka Age of Destruction and the Mechwarrior Collectible card game.

Yes, I livew near Patrick and got to playtest this at Pax East last year. This is a fun quick tabletop game, give it a push.
