So I decided to see how much the Marauder pack was worth in game. Here is an approximation of the in game value you get for the $20 package. I am basing this off the Orion which is the closest comparable IS heavy. Two Marauders come stock with an XL300, which coincidentally is the same engine as the Orion M stock, so I used the same valuation.

Marauder 3R standard variant: 6.5m (vs. average Orion)
Marauder 5D standard variant: 10.7m (vs. Orion M)
Maruader 5M standard variant: 10.7m (vs. Orion M)

Early rewards:
PPC range module: 3m
Medium laser range module: 3m
Target info gathering module: 4m
Advanced zoom module: 2m
In game currency: 6.5m

Total in game valuation: 46.4 million cbills.
*The above total does not count the 30 days of premium time or the 3 (6 with early adopter) cockpit items you get.

All in all, the best pound for pound deal they have EVER put into this game. No I'm not a salesman, just a Marauder buyer who considers this one of the easiest decisions related to this game.

People still play vindicators not sure if they're working but they play them hehe.

I bought one for the high hardpoints but if the deal gets any better it will end up in the middle of the ct hehe.

Hell I agree with the OP that iust the in-game items make it worth the $20 or $40. I'd also say it would be worth it just for the premium time and items.

I would get the full package if 3R would have jumpets, but as it is it's DOA, as many ® mechs are too. Absolutely no reason to ever pilot it. Have enough premium time banked, so whatever.. Your loss, PGI.

Over cockpit gauss will most likely not be DOA. Also due to the arm structure, I am hoping the energy points are also pretty close to the cockpit.

You'd probably be best off using the 5D to mount gauss. I can think of some great builds for the 3R stacking autocannons on that high torso.

Anyway, as a company you don't simply change your pricing models just like that... even if its not true, it gives the impression of desperation.... they have teethered from $500 gold clams to dirt cheap and anywhere in-between...

Look at mc as an example... they have totally devalued it... nobody in their right mind will buy it full price... and the same goes for hero mechs...

From a pricing model they ****** it up so hard...
