Looks like an assault with the firepower of a heavy to me.

Once the Kodiak comes out, it will completely obsolete the Atlas in basically every way.

And then, one day, you'll find something like this or even this and realize that it's vastly superior in firepower AND range to that toy-ballistic-SRM build.

Played the first one for some time. You can get awesome kills at close range and still be viable long range.

You do realize the build in the OP was simply to show how the Executioner can run a build similar to an Atlas while also being objectively superior, right? I've had the Executioner for quite awhile and have tried many builds with it ranging from small pulse laser spam, to lasers and ballistics, to long range loadouts, meta hardpoint whatevers, and the one shown in the OP.

I honestly can't say your build is any better than the Atlicutioner I set up. I mean you bring 5 tons worth of LRM launchers but then only 1 ton of ammo in one loadout then 2 in the other. The small pulse lasers or lasers work well up close, especially hurting lights, but your firepower even then is just weak in comparison to what you could be getting. You did get the large lasers in the high hardpoints at least.

An improvement to your build, and one that I run thats similar to that would be to go with 10 small pulse lasers and 2 large lasers, with a build like that you can core out the back of any mech before they turn by firing the lasers then firing the 5-5 burst from the small pulse lasers, it puts out the damage to core out a fresh 100 tonner frontally in about 3 seconds, which means you can do it without overheating. It runs hot, but it tears enemies up.

This mech easily takes out a whole lance or more if played right with any of the loadouts I run, it just gets boring to play it with that constant meta mentality, honestly all that talk about requiring some long range sniping weapon up in the hardpoints at all times gets pretty repetitive. You don't always need to have a gauss+large pulse or bunch of large lasers up there.

Sometimes you just need to run it with an old Atlas mentality.

In this day and age Heavies tend to have more firepower than assaults rather commonly.

That is quite a statement...

Question, why the 2 extra heatsinks? Better off putting Artemis on, as a 12M CoF isn't very friendly.

And it comes with 17. You don't need 19 heatsinks for so few weapons.

I agree my slight tweak would be the following.

Reduce DHS count to 16 (fixed value)

Add Artemis. (be weary of the Artemis omni pod bug).

Add 1 ton UAC10 ammo.

Replace TC with active probe. ( I feel A.P. is more valuabe on a brawler than the T.C.)

I think a Stormcrow could do better...

I was right:

My general rule of thumb for mech building is that if you can't mount the weapons befitting your weight class, you're better off trying another mech build.

I like my Atlas-S because it doesn't rely on crummy burst ballistics. BOOM. One front-loaded AC/20. BAM. 14.35 DPS from my SRM's. PEW. Sure, four small lasers to finish the job.

All this and more if I can just sneak up to within 270m of you. Which I can do more easily with PGI's recent map philosophy. :D
