But, if Russ is feeling "overly generous" again and wants to give me the ECM variant as well... I'm not exactly going to say no here =P.

And then people would hate on PGI for money grabbing.
It sounds more likely based on things that were miss-spoke at the last townhall that the CTF-0X might be the ecm heavy that we get.

So no, don't expect to much more ECM. PGI has a plate full of Haters who are gonna Hate, already.

No, because most of the rest of the mechs look like they will be sub-par or worse without significant quirks.
We do not get quirk information early enough, and PGI has been mostly phoning in the quirks added to mechs giving generic quirks with no role, no identity and no real performance improvement.
Resistance Pack 1 is full of mechs that look better than what Resistance Pack 2 will offer, and Resistance Pack 1 is full of mostly mediicore or low-performing T3 or T4 mechs at best.
One mech with ECM is not going to change any of that for me, I'd just save up the CBills since anything any of these mechs can do I already have access to mechs that can do that.

Everybody wanting ECM on the BK is remembering it from MW4:Black Knight where it did have ECM and was the jump sniping king. Those players want that mech in this game.
We were never going to have that mech, but some players have convinced themselves that the BK deserves ECM and/or JJs, it does not.
I suppose if enough players complain enough ECM might appear on the BK, we don't really know.
And before everybody starts crying about the DDC and the COM-2D, PGI bent the lore to put ECM on those mechs because: There is only the RVN-3L on the IS that has ECM in 3049/50 and they wanted to test ECM on a wider set of mechs to see how it worked out. Clans hadn't been released at that point, so there were no other ECM options besides one Raven variant. There is no such reason to bend the lore, there's plenty of IS ECM options, which leads me to the other reason the BK's 4 variants don't have ECM:
IS already has 4 lights with ECM, 2 mediums (one was very recent) and 1 assault. Whereas the Clans have 2 lights, 0 mediums and 1 heavy with ECM. Clans get the short shrift on ECM right now. From a balance perspective, the BK didn't get ECM. Clan players have been very vocal complaining about the lack of ECM options. They have one viable mech with ECM. Where as the IS gets 3 (Spider, Raven and Atlas).

LCT-PB, COM-2D, SDR-5D, RVN-3L, GRF-2N, AS7-D-DC...
Flood what?
Here's a totally viable CW drop deck:
RVN-3L, GRF-2N, QKD-5K (or WVR-6K), AS7-D-DC.
You'd be bringing ECM in 3 waves.
Agreed on the Depth tho... I which there was more to do besides meaningless c-bill grinding in the public queues and 1 game mode with mutator in CW.
However, buying mechs keeps the servers powered and the devs fed so they can code. Its PGI's profit model.

Calling the Spider and Atlas viable is definitely a stretch. Playable, yes. Viable, not really. The HBR is actually a good mech without the ECM, whereas the Spider and Atlas are not. The Raven-3L is only useful because of ECM, while the other 2 variants are the actually good ones.

I'm more interested in quirks, and hope PGI reveals at least some of them prior to May 31.

They are viable because of the ECM. Though the 5D is the only spider of worth, the rest have sucky hard points.
The atlas, spider and raven are all victims of power creep, if we're going to expand the conversation a bit. They are all venerable mechs in MWO and most have been eclipsed for what they do by other mechs. The KGC is the king 100 ton mech for the IS, no atlas compares to it.
The HBR is good tho, I almost broke my "no clan tech till 3060" rule and got it. Its the only clan mech I ever wanted. Its the only clan mech I liked on the TT too.
However in CW, are these IS mechs viable? hell yeah. I've driven them all and I've won with them. Do they match the large laser meta? No. If that's your only criteria for viability, then maybe you're right. I don't see it that way, personally, but then I'm a pilot that likes to take lower tier mechs and find ways to make them very viable. There's no greater feeling in MWO, than taking down some T1 mech with T3 trash.
Anyway, the problem is power creep. That's driven by players who keep demanding more T1 mechs, which makes all the old mechs drop off the power scale.

I'm buying this pack anyway, regardless of the BK's ECM status.
I want a Wolfhound to go with and challenge my Panther. I've never driven a Crab and I love 50 ton mechs. The BK's art looks hella sexy, its like Gypsy Danger merged wtih the old and dorky looking BK from the TT. The Mauler... I'm not as excited about as the other MW4 fan boys here, we could use another 90 ton mech, its got neat hard points, and those missiles are mounted pretty high, which is always appreciated. I'm a bit concerned about the huge shoulders being fire magnets, the thing looks as easy to hit as an Awesome. Defiantly not XL friendly.
Plus the cockpit items are always fun, but the biggest bonus is the 30% c-bills on the specials and the Premium Time. Getting PT at a discount and more c-bill mechs make it really easy to grind c-bills to buy, kit out, and module the really good mechs.
So there you go, ECM on the BK isn't a deciding factor. And as I said above, I didn't expect it to have ECM anyway, I'd guessed PGI's move correctly.
