Thank you, PGI for let me pilot the Black Widow!

But you could make another dream of mine come true.

the PHOENIX HAWK!
"First introduced by the Terran Hegemony in 2568[1], the Phoenix Hawk is one of the most well known BattleMechs in the Inner Sphere. The 'Mech began life when Orguss Industries realized that it could reinforce the Stinger chassis to create a larger version with a top speed of 97.2 km/h and a jumping distance of 180 meters, giving it the same speed profile as the Stinger with a more potent arsenal. After the Phoenix Hawk started reaching its various deployments, the 'Mech's full potential was discovered, and it became known as a command 'Mech for unit commanders due to the presence of the advanced communications suite on-board. However, it also became a staple of reconnaissance. Lance commanders often utilize it because it is capable of keeping up with 'Mechs like the Stinger and Wasp while carrying considerably more firepower."

I'm a medium pilot, I'd really appreciate the possibility to pilot the mech I used to many times in so many matches in TT: PXH-3D (2erLL+2mpl).
Great speed, great jumping, maneuverability, always fresh.

"270 stock engine" means 360 engine cap (or am I wrong?), giving it max speed 129.6kph, 172kph with MASC (LOL)

PXH-3S has MASC and 3 energy hardpoints+2ballistic

We could even have hero version: PXH-3M Masters (sadly the Sante is available in 3067)

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ!

Classic "Japanese Toy Robot". As classic as it gets.
Also, the Phoenix Hawk, much like the Wasp, was designed to be a Transformer Battlemech (hence all the wingy and thruster stuff etc.), which is about as ridiculous as bipedal war tanks carrying melee weapons into combat.

Seriously: there are toys for little children, and there are TO SOME DEGREE matured (although still pretty unrealistic) war machines. I, for my part, am a grown up and fancy the latter, not the prior.

edit:
Just a quick google. The resemblance is uncanny:

I'd snap up the Phoenix Hawk pretty fast, TBH, but what i really want is the Archer. Not because I'm a generally huge fan of missiles in MWO, but because of pure table top nostalgia. I've had Archers limp off the field with no arms, 1 side torso, an engine crit, a gyro crit, 3 leg crits, no ammo, and not enough armor left to weld into a coffee cup; but they left under their own power, while many supposedly better mechs lay upon the field in smoking ruins.

Sorry, it's my way of reserving a post because my posts tend to be a little more than just a line or two and I had it many times that several people post before me. So: reserve post with a quick "WIP" and immediately edit :D.

Hehe it's called dice luck and tactics. I doubt very much the archer model itself played a significant role in those outcomes :P

I also give credit to those 13 tons of armor. Archers carry more armor than most stock 3025 era mechs.

Not the first time I read this argument here. It sounds like you don't actually like Battletech/Mechwarrior that much, given that mechs have never been just walking tanks and the use of melee attacks and weapons has been an essential component since the beginning. I am sorry to hear that, and hope you can still enjoy the same game with people for whom the PHX is more battletech than any generic military bot. To each his own...

That would be because once those missiles are spent it's down to a handful of medium lasers and no threat anymore. For me, it was always Thunderbolts crawling off the field, dragging themselves along with their last remaining finger

That's the reason I want the PXH.
Best medium eva, in my matches pxh-3d. A lot of fun!
Hitting the enemy at distance with 2erLL, enemies could barely hit it, then going close fast, 2mpl+1erLL: always fresh.

At the end, it was always the mech with better stats.

And I think in MWO it would perform very very well, too

A handful? One on each arm and two torso mounted rear facing, and that's all...

Anyway, it was by far my most successful mech in the 1v1 league we held a long time ago in the very early '90.

Yeah... the Phoenix Hawk is the next of the three really popular unseen mechs so we'll get to see it in like 2 weeks.

Speaking of MWO perspective: isn't it just a lighter shadow hawk?

I really dislike the Phoenix Hawk, but I look forward to seeing what it looks like when drawn as a proper mech instead of an aerotech mutant.

Apparently every humanoid design with humanoid proportions is a 'Japanese toy robot', a topic of which I have a feeling you don't know much about? :P
