Hey all!

Quick question.

For the past few months, I've noticed that I just don't hear all the sounds.

For example, I might be hit in the back with lasers, but never hear a single thing. I'm supposed to hear the "disintegrating armor sound" right?

I've run the repair tool, nothing wrong.

Anyone else getting this? Is this intentional, or just a bug?

I've had the same issue happen sporadically for a long time now, sometimes I won't notice when I'm taking laser damage to the rear and then all of a sudden I look up and 10% of my mech's health is gone with no warning at all.

It's quite irritating when it happens.

Known bug, when we reported it in the forum we were told we were baddies that we should stare at the paper doll all match long.

So is this really true? If so, this is a major game-breaking issue in my opinion. I hear the damage sound for lasers about 1/2 of the time. Perhaps less. It gets very frustrating. I can't glue my eyes to the paper doll 100% of the time. I need to be aware of other things.

Yep - it happens. Very frustrating - especially when it is raised on the forum various players dismiss it saying it does not happen and we need to L2P.

Yep I'm sure it has to do with lag or packet problems.

I wish I had the ability to record games without playing at 5 FPS. However, I think this is a real issue. I raised it to Russ Bollock. He's never responded before, but I can hope. I'll throw an e-mail to technical support.

My ping is generally 60. Internet is pretty stable here, wired connection.

Again, known bug. Sometimes you don't hear rear damage. I notice it as the above folks... you see the red on the paperdoll before you hear or see anything else.

Yes i've noticed the same thing, also on the new forest colony when walking in water there's no walking sound either.

Is the lack of water sound effect true for ALL water, or just that on Forest? I know about forest, bugs the hell out of me too.

Seems many people know about this issue. Russ responded, mentioned he would to it to a QA team.

I think it's more than just damage. Sometimes I don't hear warhorn kill sounds either. There are it seems, cases when sounds get "dropped" based on *insert issue here*.

Hmm. I've heard that the Warhorn sound issue has been going on for a long, long time. I wonder why sounds are getting dropped? This issue might be bigger than I initially thought.

EDIT:

I've been running the 64-bit version since it came out. Not sure if I had the issue before that. Could that be it?

Can anyone respond here if they're running 64-bit as well?

In my experience, I will get no damage indicator noise if I am standing still and someone shoots me with a laser without moving the laser AT ALL.

Just got an update from Russ! Looks like they're going to fix the water sounds on Forest. That's a start, at least. Going up on the Tuesday patch.
