If you know the lore the wolf's dragoons had advanced tech in their IS mechs.... soo does this mean the black widow hero mech "would/should" include a clan XL engine?

woo a way to include mixtech into the game. "Wolf's Dragoon's pack. Only $300"

That's mostly incorrect. Wolf's Dragoons used strictly IS tech appropriate to their time to avoid (more) suspicion by their employers. It is hinted that Natasha Kerensky sort of bent the rules when she used a custom Marauder, which emulated the Marauder IIC in that it used 3 PPCs, 2 medium lasers, and double heat sinks. This 'mech was lost in a duel with The Bounty Hunter. Hence The Bounty Hunter ended up with Natasha's advanced Marauder, while Natasha ended up with The Bounty Hunter's Warhammer. I think The Bounty Hunter's Warhammer was actually a stock WHM-6R.

I do like to think that Wolf's Dragoons did have some Clan battlemechs stashed away in the Inner Sphere somewhere, just in case stuff really went south.

EDIT: Later on they were producing Clan omnimechs on Outreach, such as the Dire Wolf. I'm not sure when they started doing that though.

No, because there is no indication of Natasha Kerensky's Warhammer ever been equipped with Clan XL engine. There is no indication that Natasha Kerensky used anything else than stock Warhammer.

Actually, that's not correct in multiple respects:
1) There is no indication that Natasha Kerensky used anything else than stock Marauder.
2) That Bounty Hunter's Marauder refit with three PPCs was done after he has become the owner of that Marauder. Natasha Kerensky had nothing to do with that refit.
3) Actually, Bounty Hunter piloted Griffin, not Warhammer, when he met Natasha Kerensky. So there was no 'Mech "exchange" between him and Kerensky.

That's possible, but surely they didn't use them before the Clans invaded. (if we disregard changes in the origin of 'Mechs such as Imp or Annihilator)

Natasha Kerensky used a stock JET BLACK WHM-6R Warhammer.

Don't like the hero on this one. Part of Natasha's cool factor was no-one else was so insane as to run an all black scheme on such a hot mech.

Us Sphereroids don't need any of your fancy pants clantech!
