Old Maps - Pls Put Them Back In Rotation, With Low % Drop

Right now, there are 280+ mechs, and only 14 maps.
I dunno the current drop % of each map, but for myself i can say im getting new FC+RC 40%+ of all my drops, and i dont like both maps (FC is too much crysis trees, and RC is still citadel daytona race).
Can you PGI a little lower % drop on RC and FC ?
What id like to see, is re-adding "old maps" like snow colony back in map rotation, even with the smallest %.
It will re-fresh you from nonstop seeing crysis-map. It will widen a little bit the maps we have. more option = more joy.
What do you think ?

Now maybe keeping the maps is private matches might be a good idea. After all, private matches can have a smaller number of players.
It might make more sense to keep the older maps for private play sessions and just keep them out of the regular public queues.

I disagree. There were played gazilion matches on them, they are fine. Put on them smallest % drop, but put them back in rotation.

Fine.
Why not adding it as OPTION, ie clickable box "Include old maps into maps rotation".
click/unclick it, will put you on them or not (ie put you in a queue with or without it).
i mean, not 2 separate queues, just one with all maps but when it adds player to a map, it will check if he want old maps in. If not, then put him on another map waiting to drop.

I know you disagree, that is why you made the thread lol. I'm just saying they were too small. The complaints on the forums about their size has been going on ever since they went to a 12 v 12 format (heck even before when we were still 8 v 8).
Now we have newer and larger maps with more detail. Let the old maps go and embrace the new. If the old maps stick around at all, keep the old maps for private lobbies running smaller games.
Besides, if they keep them around in the private lobby system, you can invite some friends and play the smaller maps whenever you want (as long as you have the premium time).

Larger maps mean nothing. In FC people still walks 5 mins to the center of the map. nothing changed.
I must say, i like smaller maps better, because they spare me 5 mins walk.

I value my eyesight.
Seriously, old FC would kill my eyes. It made me sick.
I approve of them being made available for private matches though.

Does it give you a headache and make your eyes water? Because that's what old FC did to me (not joking, it really hurt).
If so, i can feel your pain and you have my sympathy.
New FC is terrible visibility wise, but at least it dosen't hurt me.

The more options for searching matches, the harder (less working) it gets for matchmaker to find suitable players.
PGI explained that time and time again.
If you have X00.000 players, it might not be a big deal, but with the current ~30K, every option means longer wait times and worse matches. I'd rather vote for removing the game mode option instead of introducing another option.

I think there are 280+ mechs and 14 maps because people pay directly for mechs and do nothing but moan about the maps.

Well kinda, but not really.
280+ mechs because they know how much a mech earns and can track the amount of income it generates. They have trending data and know how much a mech pack should generate and they can therefore budget around it's income projections.
14 maps because maps generate ???? amounts of income. It's intangible and almost impossible to track. Sure more content brings more players and might motivate those players to play more and spend more, but how much? How do you track that with metrics? Its all guesswork with no real solid income data.
So, when PGI needs to budget for paying...the electric bill, server farm rent, employee wages, taxes, etc... They can say "We need to release "x" amount of mech packs per year that at projected trends earns us "y" amount of money to cover our expenditures and fund further development", or "we can build "x" amount of maps and hope more people spend money".
You really can't blame PGI for going with what they know earns them money instead of what they think and hope will. Hope doesn't pay the bills.

True.
I think old FC was so small that you could be anywhere on the map without beeing completly out of the fight, whereas on new FC you take a wrong turn and all of a sudden your seperated from your team, so everybody clumps together.
This doesn't happen on new RC because it has higher visibility.
On topic: old FC Snow - fine, old FC rather not.

Nearly 50% of the maps is fluff currently because the cap/base locations are all near the center of map.
Combine that with the drop locations as far away as possible and you have a stale 2-3 options of attack.
The quickest fix for these issues is to just make spawn and cap locations random. Give every map a newish feel to it.
