It's always been warm.
Making the caldera more like Terra Therma though, we're gonna see lots of "stand in the doorway" syndrome if enough people stop NASCARing to peek in.

My high-mounted mechs quiver in anticipation! Best time to level up the freshly bought EBJs.

Heh, I thought TT was the new Caustic.
Seriously though, the Caldera has always been hotter than anything but the lava on Terra Therma. Meanwhile, Tourmaline is hotter yet.

The screenshots did make it look alot more like Mordor.
Hopefully that means Mordor will be the next to be fixed and the Caldera will get radically changed. Id still prefer Death Mountain to be fixed next however.
Mordor and Deathmountain are just so unbelievably bad.

mordors bad because it violates a number of map design principles.
the exterior perimeter of the map is too hard to navigate because of all the stupid volcanos.
and the interior is too easy too navigate which causes everyone to just funnel into the middle.
when designing maps you usually want the opposite of that because it creates better flow on the map. maps where people just rush into the center completely lack flow.
