well it goes against any other medium mech in the game. Ofc ppl will like it, since its a medium with light profile something that was not in the game(maybe cicada but its even shorter than that). I'm talking about balance aspect of this, tbh it feels unnatural. I'll definately buy one when it comes for cbills and make it med-long range skirmisher/poker if size stays the same. I used to be a pretty good dragon pilot so i know you cannot make mechs like that a brawler.

Please be quite OP many have voiced mediums were too big since day one. PGI is finally listening and here you come along crying about it! OP is the reason this game can never have nice things!

I bet you run this game on a toaster too.

I just saw a kitfox next to a crab. All I can say is lol. The crab makes the kitfox look like huge, hideous monstrous beast, and the crab is a medium, a kit fox is a light...

Dude i am a medium pilot, almost exclusively ^^ Still doesnt change the fact that its smaller than it should be, how you feel is not a valid opinion in a discussion.

Seriously, people ***** (and rightly so) about how PGI can't make a good mech for ****, then the moment they make a good mech GD comes out of its hole and starts crying OP. This is psychotic and you know it.

A properly sized medium mech and people are complaining?!?

The problem isn't that it's too small, it's that most other mediums have been sized too big up till now and you've gotten used to that.

Noone is saying its op, only profile is way smaller than it should have been.

i dont think you understand what makes an opinion invalid. In any case, noone here actually argued the point of wheter its smaller than it should be, they rather did say "finally a good mech!" which sums up the bias.

An over exaggeration, but I bet the side profile of the Crab is longer than any other medium mech in the game.

In reality, you could probably shield 2 Cicada torsos parked next to it lol

So don't torso twist.

OTHER MEDIUMS ARE TOO BIG

MAKE OTHER MEDIUMS SMALLER AND THEN THE CRAB WONT BE TOO SMALL

Thats the thing though neither mech has dragon level protrusion. It way smaller than it should be so as long as you keep at range you are at advantage. I dont think size should come in to the game as a balancing aspect that would be both stupid and unreliable.

If you freeze it at 0:47, you can see it is a bit smaller than a Cicada in front profile. The torso itself is about the same height, but the legs are longer which elevates the torso a bit higher than the Crab's in relative position. The Cicada is more squared off vs the rounded top of the Crab, so the Cicada's shoulders protrude a bit more (probably how Livewyr was able to hit a Cicada past a Crab). let the video play a couple more seconds and you can see the Crab's length is twice the width of a Cicada (where most of the Crab's surface area is exposed). Is it longer or shorter than a Shadow Cat, I don't know. It is longer than any other IS medium though.

UPDATE:

Actually, I didn't notice this, but freeze it at about 1:31 and you can see a size comparison with the Cicada side to side. It is clearly longer than the Cicada, but not as bad as I thought.

Really, it is probably about the same size as a Cicada overall. The Trade-off is the Crab is a bit longer and has it's primary weapons spaced out away from the torso where it is more vulnerable, where as the Cicada has a slightly larger front profile.

It is closer than a thought, but maybe the Crab's extra tonnage is in the arms the Cicada doesn't have. in either case, the Crab overall is bigger IMO. Just a little closer than I gave it credit for,
