Why I choose a merc corp,

I think in a merc Corp, the games will be better organized, as the players get to know each others style of play, buy training together, also using team speak/ventrilo. And having a chain of command and a goal to achieve as a team. Also merc Corp players seem more hardcore and have played other MW titles and TT games.

I think fighting other merc units with the same dedication and organization, We will experience a better game.

The problem I see with joining a faction, is it will be like joining a PUG group all the time, with no voice communications, tactics or command, and new players who have never played a MW game.

This leads mainly to people running off doing their own thing and not working as a team.

This is just my thought, and wondered if anyone had even given it a consideration when pledging to a house?

If your a member of a guild and the guild (w/ TS, Vent, Mumbles) as a whole plays for the same house you will not have a problem.

My unit and myself will be pledging to House Kurita... with a friends list then randoms won't be a problem. Also, should I be playing alone I'll still be completing missions for my House and leveling up my rank.

Think you missed to point, what I'm trying to say is merc corps games will be far more tactical and intense. compared to house games where most people will be lone wolfs, as they lack the ability to communicate, and lack of tactics and leadership.

PS, did I beat you to the name?

Erm, who says people from the same house won't be able to join up in by inviting eachother into the same game, and play as a close tight nit group with good coordination?

But unless you have 12 friends to group with you still will have PUG members in your grp. Don't get me wrong here I'm not saying joining a house is a bad thing,

Just that merc Corp games will be more organized and tactical making for a better gaming experience.

I think so anyway

I can see what you mean but honestly, it should't take too long after palying (people are JUST starting, not really gonna have master players or playstyles off the start), you will have time to get a bunch of friends and add them to some list on the game. I'm all for the different groups and merc corps, I'm just saying ANY group will eventually have people on ts.vin talking to eachother and playing as a team

I wonder if you can switch at anytime hassle free or they really want to keep it permanent or include a gimmick like you have to play to switch. I really have no idea whether I want to be loyal to a faction or be in the Merc Corps. To be honest I've been playing lots of MW4: Mercenaries and it's making me want to be a Merc xD

No one said that you couldnt, but who is the leader? How do you communicate fast? Will you beable to make a full unit all the time or you will carry PUG players. And if you can do that why don't you make a merc corps anyway,

A merc corps still has to pledge to a house, fir it contracts.

Just think, you could go Lone Wolf and you might end up with Battle Armor if this game sticks around long enough.

You can change your pledge any time, but it will cost alot of C-Bills, to make you think twice about it.

Pretty sure it would be the same as a merc group, they all agree who would be calling the shots (or like some pvp games just know their roles and follow). Heck you would have the same "delima" with a merc group for that match (who would lead) and a team that is in the house. Someone gets teh lead role by the groups agreement and thus the game follows and they stick to the plan

No I've been a member longer then you.

You can form lances and companies as a house so you and 3/7/11 friends can go into battles together.

I'm a member of a guild we are voting on which house to go with as a guild so the 60+ members we have will all be playing for the same house.
Comms will not be a problem as we have Vent and Mumbles we use for all the games we play.

If I understand op correctly every merc corp will have 12 people only. And those 12 people are always online at the same time and they never get sick, have computer/isp trouble or whatever else that keeps them from playing when they want. Cause having more (say 23) people in a merc corp would always leave 11 on the sidelines not able to play.

Im only quessing here but I pretty sure mercs will need to play with 'pugs' just like the people in the houses more than often or not play at all. :)

As I see it merc corp = clan, guild, corp or whatever you want to call it and a house is a bunch of clans and bunch of individuals playing for same goals. So it would look like being in a house would actually 'give better gaming experience' by op's standards as the 'pugs' would always be the same whereas the mercs would have to settle for whoever is willing to tolerate them.

We are still doing it, just a bit differently. The old way was abondoned when we realised that winning and playing well is way more fun than losing and playing badly.

Some people have different definitions of fun. Maybe it's a negative quality in me, but I really like winning. When I'm playing a competitive game, and I'm losing, I don't really have much fun at all.

I enjoy the feeling of having a good strategy, implementing it, and seeing fruits of your skills through winning battles. Though that's only if I feel like being competative, there have been times in games where I use a load-out that I'm HORRIBLE with and just play it for the fact of having fun, not trying to actually gain points or to win. IE, using the Huntsman in Team Fortress 2, I'm horrible with that thing.

Who plays games for fun? I do it to crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentation of the women.
