Viewing Friendly Mech Loadouts

The concerns about player being flamed for bringing in a "bad" loadout are reals, but the benefits seems bigger than the issues here.

We can't have nice things.

your matchscore speaks for itself.
if people rag on you for having a ****** build and then you do less than 100 damage... theyre right your build sucks.
but if you end up with like 400+ damage and 1-2 kills then they cant really complain.

well theres definitely aspects there that can be improved.
for example each lance should have its own unique color. Instead of it just being blue for your team and light blue for your lance. it should be like blue for alpha lance, a different shade of blue for beta lance, and light blue for your own lance. additionally the commander and lance leaders should get something that makes them instantly identifiable on the map, like a different shaped arrow or something so you can immediately tell where the leaders are.
its kindve hard for leaders to issue orders to specific players when the game is lacking in proper tools for quickly identifying which friendly mech is who and where they are.
Also I have no problem with being able to target friendly mechs and seeing their loadouts. I think thats fine for quickly checking the status of friendlies in front of you, but a lot of the time its inefficient, especially if you wanna check the status/loadouts of everyone on your team.
I still feel there needs to be a team status overlay screen, or just make it part of the map screen, that shows the entire status of your team all at once. so commanders can see the big picture with regard to their teams overall status/loadouts.

We also need the ability to switch to HTAL instead of the ragdolls and on top of each bar graph it should give an exact number regarding how much armor/internal structure is left. Its kindve dumb that we arnt even allowed to know the exact amount of armor/structure left on our center torso. Every other game shows you the exact amount of life you have left its not obfuscated by colors.

Not even a real concern. If you die first, then you get to not only get to see inside their cockpits, but see them play too. It can't really be worse than what we're already doing.

I mean I'd really like to know if the Atlas next to me is actually going to be useful or if they are only pretending to push with me so they can use me for cover while they launch their LRMs.
Anyone else want a "target friendly mech under reticle" feature that will give you some useful information like how damaged they are or what weapons they have?
Even if this info was somehow available during drop splash page, while in dropship, or accessible from the battlemap (God knows Battle map needs more functionality) that would be nice. I think it would allow better coordination of teams and team play while in solo/small group pugging.

I'm not sure this is a good reason to not show friendly loadouts. I'd really like to see them, and not for tryhard reasoning like identifying "useless teammates". I think it'd be useful to see, e.g., where our LRM boats are, whether some of the guys next to might have suitable loadouts to join me in a flanking move.
I agree though, that it's strange when people do the tryhard shtick in PUG queue, and whine WAY too much about someone's build or play being subobtimal. There're venues in the game for comp play, and it sure ain't the PUG queue.
As far as how to implement showing the friendly loadouts, I liked the suggestion about hovering your reticle over a friendly mech while pressing q, and that popping out the targeting information paperdoll, as done for enemies. That'd be simple and not require any new keys for targetting friendlies.

I have no intention on bitching at people. I just want to know who I need to roll with and who complements my own load out. Asking 12 people on VOIP is not going to work and waiting for the whole team to write their load out into text is nuts.
I do admit if I saw another pure MG dire, I would likely leave him to do his own thing, But that is not me being a troll, I just do not think they are worth saving and the only job they truly fulfil is that of a bullet magnet.

The ability to see friendly 'mech weapons and damaged parts was vital in every single MW game and this one is missing that for no reason - bitching at peoples loadouts is not a valid reason not to include this option. In fact, you should be able to target friendly 'mechs, not just mouseover with the crosshair.

I'm not for it. Too often I am teamed with someone one match only to face them next match. Trust me, even knowing what mech they are piloting is advantage enough. Knowing their mech and load out? Too much in my book.

At the time I was running my Jager with my favorite load out
The A with 2 LRM lunchers an AC5 and a ERLL
I even have people people give me a hard time about my Streak Wolf (which gets top damage almost every time I take it out)
I thought there was a module at one time that told them what my load out was lol
OP idea would lead to some interesting chat exchanges lol

I would say its less about bitching about other builds and more about we know what to expect from our teammates.
It lets us adjust our playstyles accordingly. For example, if I'm in a fast mech, I'm am most definitely going to attempt to bait enemy mechs towards our Atlas. If he turns out to be a LRM boat, fat lot of good that would do.
He would suffer for it, not me. I can just run off, but he'll be a LRM boat being harassed at close range now. No, I won't help him. His own fault for being a LRM fatlass and not telling anyone else.
See why knowledge of your teammates loadouts is important?

I think it would also be nice to que up as a certain role like "skirmisher, scout, brawler, sniper" (or possibly have tags attached to the mechs in the mechlab?). These tags should be seen in the predrop screen so you can get an understanding of what kind of team comp you have and plan accordingly.

Yes please, I would love to see friendly mech builds.
It should be an easy implementation to, as they already have enemy mech info up.
