Getting left behind or not, some people just blame Assault pilots - just the other day on Forest Colony my Assault lance ran head long into the entire enemy team. We were in the narrow pass with our own team stacked up behind us, so the only option is to push, which we did. The Assaults got chewed up and to cut a long story short an obnoxious gobshite started cussing out the Assault lance for not doing enough and how he, in his Panther survived - it seemed beyond him to realise that when the reds were faced with a DWF, WHK and MLR he wasnt a priority target and that it wasnt his skill that carried him through.

But thats PuG life.

Ive noticed many players staying with the Assaults at the beginning but as the match progresses target fixation takes over and the Assaults get accidently left even by players that want to support them

Even within an assault lance itself, the Dires get left behind. Yes, voip requests to the contrary go out. No, such requests very rarely result in any assistance.

So I come on for some MWO destressing (yes yes some of you are already groaning), and play my assaults (cue even more groaning) to find that even though I start my matches by saying don't nascar, don't leave me behind.. the team invariable does then blames me for not doing my part or bringing assaults in the first place (especially slow dires). Seriously...really!??. had to vent a little here but at my tier level (2) I would have thought protecting your assaults was a given.....ok.. have vented... night night.

I don't suppose you'd consider giving a lighter mech class a try? Lights can be fun as hell even when you get shot to pieces.

If I am in a Dire and my team decides to NASCAR, I find a nice spot for ambusj a invite lancemates to join in on my plan. Best case scenario, the enemy will be still engaged with you when the rest of your team attacks them from behind. Worst case scenario you can dispatch quite a few mechs before you die.

This works even if your own lance abandons you. Admittedly not as well.

Well, I get it. I think you were being overly optimistic when you actually asked your team to support you in a pug though. For some reason I tend to play assaults more than pretty much anything, so I know how it can be.

When you've got even a half way decent team you can be a monster. When you don't? Hello 90 damage game, so glad I spent that time loading you up in the first place. Because there's nothing more satisfying than being shredded 3 minutes in. That feeling of being completely impotent is the best in the world.

Anyway, I think you probably get it, but MWO isn't always the best game for depressurizing. And if you walk into it already steaming, sometimes MM likes to take that opportunity to screw with you. Personally, if I'm already feeling aggravated, I play something else. Something calming like SimCity. Or Tropico.
