I think you've got that wrong to be honest. I've never seen anyone say that personally, and I'm always lurking on the forum. It isn't about value for money.
I would say that the people who began to hate MWO felt that way because this is the only Battletech game, and PGI made it a disappointingly bad minimally viable arena shooter. They probably would have just moved on if PGI hadn't closed down MWLL to get rid of the competition. The biggest Battletech fans were then forced to either play this game or nothing, unless you count very old games, so they hung around complaining.
The only thing it has to do with founders is the fact that the biggest fans who were most disappointed were obviously also the most likely to back anything Battletech and buy founders packs.
Weong for the MWLL part.
PGI didn't closed MWLL, at least not intentionally, they spook with the devs of MWLL about MWO and thr guys of MWLL decided to stop, amparently most of them started to get boring and was more a task than a pleasure.
But of course, the fanboys decided it was obviously PGI who put a knife to the throat of MWLL.
Heck, last time I played MWLL I was disgusted by the players there, the moment you say MWO, you were almost insulted.
Heck, some are so butthurt they can't even admit MWO did a lot of design for the battlemechs nicely!
Never played MWLL again, the game was nice. But the community was just too much to handle for me.
I'd rather have an Ok game with a nice community than a excellent game with a toxic community.
Ho, and did I mentionned some of theses guys loved to insult and trolls guys of MWO (especially the players) from a thread in the forum of a certain big space sim where it would be not just a game but a universe?
I think that monologue put me in the "Talk-Knight" category. ^^

I'm not a LL fan myself. Just going by what was said by one of the LL team. They were asked nicely to stop work, but told that things would get legal if they didn't. The point wasn't that PGI were wrong to protect their licence anyway, just that some people hated them having a monopoly on Battletech because it seemed to make Russ complacent about putting effort into retaining players.
I have read that thread btw, there was some constructive thought about how things should be but it was buried in a mountain of childish hate and bitterness.

I thought Forum Warrior only designated people who are very active on the forum, who try to be part of every single thread possible especially if they disagree with anything.

It's hard to discuss this matter seriously, because there's like 30 people posting regularly on the forum. Any statement you make about white knights and black knights is going to be taken personally by people you've interacted with. And I really don't want to single out anyone or make veiled references about specific people, so suffice it to say that, in fact, you're all morons and your arguments are invalid.

Oh, I wish MWO was complex enough that you could have real missions with mercenaries and I could just set the city on fire and betray all my comrades and allies, like Khârn.
Here's a pixel red knight I made, to the most legendary teamkiller of all time.

I don't really care about colors, white knights or pathological contrarians. It's just that sometimes when I drop I secretly imagine myself to be a Grey Knight Dreadnought. Also I am allergic to Heresy.

I like what PGI is doing. I just don't like how they're doing it.
