[Rant] This Game Is Super Frustrating

Also elited mechs really help. I think to many players buy different mechs for fun. The double basics really help. Certain mechs can get away without them, but they just become double OP with.
It took me about 2 months with a lot of time to play before I felt like anything but food for others.

Is the Timber Wolf champion a trial mech? If so, I suggest hopping in that mech, moving with your team, and having awareness of any cover nearby.
This game has a steep learning curve. Contrary to what people like to say on the forums how this is essentially as mind numbing as CoD, with mechs, this game requires a lot of thinking ahead and awareness of what each team is doing, as well as thoughtful positioning. Stick with it, and once you get the hang of it, it becomes very rewarding.

Maybe you ought to try a support role? ER Larges and LRMs on the sidelines, or even an Autocannon Jagermech?

I've found MWO to be a progressive learning experience. You can't go from the Lynx to the Dire. You have to slowly adapt up the weight classes from where you started. For instance; For the longest time, I was a diehard medium mech jock. Mediums were all I knew-- mediums were all I was good at. However, I wanted to learn to pilot lights, so what I did was master the cicada as a step down from the usual 50 tonners I pilot. The cicada's light mech playstyle then prepared me for real light piloting. Likewise for assaults, I had to transition from heavies; namely the Orion. I'm still "levelling up" my Assault skill, actually. Currently mastering Battlemasters.

I got past T4 on my first match in an Introtech firestarter (this is on an alt, mind you). So I'm not saying you, a relatively new player, should be up at this standard, I'm saying it is possible.

So how do I counter that? Buy more mechs? O_O
Your builds are probably bad for CW. If I bring a LargeLaserVomit dropdeck to CW, I roflstomp and get 1k+ damage. If I bring varied (read: fun) loadouts to CW, I get roflstomped with 600 damage. My only advice is to play solo and group queue, it's more fun there.

That's because this game is basically just like every other twitch instagib shooter out there, they just wrapped everything in mech textures.

If you are being insta-gibbed its because of poor play. If you are new, that is to be expected, there is a steep learning curve.

Play some Call of Duty and get back to me on how instagib this game is.

The load time + wait time is indeed up to 10+ minutes. I am a casual player since launch and you guys are full of crap. It's a horrendous wait time to start game, que in, wait.. wait... "ready"... wait.. wait... Ok I get like 4 minutes of fun.
Repeat the painful process.
It's unfathomable why they don't have a live-drop-in mode or something and 4x larger maps for some interesting and random mechanics. Pinpoint accuracy is also the downfall of this sim-lite game.

Yeah, I play Titanfall as well...
Ignoring how terrible the on foot shooter portion is...
The mech portion, is better than MWO's experience.
How sad is that.
When I want twitch shooter... I play MWO.
When I want to feel like I'm in a giant robot... I literally play COD's Mech Game.
Ironic.

Honestly with TTK the way it is now, I kinda agree with him. Until something is drastically changed, it really is almost like were playing Call of Duty, Mechwarrior Edition.

I didn't realize we get killed in a matter of seconds-- Hell, I don't think that's even possible unless you're focused by the whole team, in which case you SHOULD die quickly. This exaggeration is ridiculous! I mean LOOK at this!
CSGO:
https://youtu.be/TK9Mse_paAE?t=13
Time of contact: 13 seconds
Time of death: 17 seconds
MWO:
https://youtu.be/WkRnxAs50lU?t=94
Time of contact: 1 minute 40 seconds
Time of Death: 8 minutes 36 seconds
Jesus Christ people, if MWO is a twitch shooter, what the hell is CSGO? A one click n' done game of luck?

This issue is actually pinpointing a major PGI problem as well. How to get new players in a decent way into the game? Have them perfoming in at least a decent way in the first 100 matches. I have myself tried with a few friends grouping up but it normally ends up by getting outperformed by a larger Group, and they will very quickly get tired of the game. This issue concerns us all as the new player input is basically deciding the future and develpment of this game.
How can we get them to perform at least on a decent level when starting playing? I guess the gamers that play on several accounts will be an issue here. I also suppose that low level tier players like myself will be an big issue, when running higher performing mechs, the new players will not have a chance.
Any good solutions to the new player experience? I´m sure that PGI would appreciate it, and in the long run also ourselves.

To top it off my team almost always gets slaughtered every match, and if i happen to survive I am usually hunted down. Then the HUD starts to shake. It shakes alot, at THE MOST inopportune time, like when I'm shooting at something.
I rarely do over 156 damage. I never get kills. I am killed more often than not, even if I'm striking at vital spots. I've tried all different kinds of load outs, different weapons, Tons of heat sinks, no heat sinks. Sniper? Sure, right until I get ganged up on. Brawler? It's great except to do any damage I have to get insanely close which cause me to become a target. All around? Missile Boat? Its the same all the time. I die quickly.
The only reason I like this game at all is because I like Mechs but playing this game is like an exercise in masochism. I say this after playing over 100 matches. I'd much rather be playing through a story mode, hitting objectives, and actually enjoying the reason I came to this game: The mechs.
If I wanted to take potshots at people I'd just go play Destiny.
Yup. Were terrible. Move along to a better game. Check back in a year. Or six.

8 months? Bandito... *shakes head*
I took this screenshot on September 17th, 2012, five weeks after I started playing, just to commemorate the first time I broke 1.0 KDR (mostly in Commandos, too):
There were frequent stat resets in CB though, so to be fair I had probably played a lot more than 170 matches (and didn't have a lot of old deaths keeping the average down either).
To the OP then: Keep at it. Try to learn from your mistakes - and be sure to stay and spectate others after you die to try to find out what they do different to you that means they're still alive and you're not.
A few other tips:
Don't be the first to be seen. First to be seen means first to be focus-fired by the whole enemy team.
Stick with your team as best you can. There is safety in numbers, if nothing else because they soak some fire coming your way. Massed fire from several 'mechs is also quite a bit more effective in taking down opponents than a 1v1. Hence, the DeathBall.
A good trick when you're new is to pick one team mate (preferably in a larger 'mech than yours) as your "buddy" - whatever he fires at, you fire at. Wherever he goes, you go. Just make sure he doesn't think you're trying to "steal his kills" (even though there's really no such thing in MWO, some people get upset about it - to the point of FF and even TKs).
Anyway, good luck out there!

There have been quite a few people handing out advice (and some shitheads). But from what I have read you already have an ebon jaguar.
I wanted to ask what variant you are using and what equipment you currently have on it.
Then I would also like to know how you play it in the game (what do you usually do).
It would also be nice to find out about your preferences concerning combat.
