Something doesn't compute.

I only rarely get a match score >400. If I'm honest, I don't even score over 250 all that regularly since I'm almost always leveling up some new Mech or other. If I had to guess, I'd say that most of my games fall into the 100-250 range, which is "smallest rise" in a win but "medium drop" in a loss.

I do probably get more 250-400 range wins ("medium rise") than <100 losses ("largest drop"), but both cases are uncommon enough that it could still be a net loss overall.

All of this leads me to believe that my PSR should be dropping... but it isn't. It's very slowly rising. At the very worst it is holding steady, but I'm pretty sure I'm getting a net increase of about a pixel every 20 games or so.

Not sure what's going on...

Depends on your WLR. If it is 50-50 at the least, then you should get tiny net rating increase after 20 matches.

Win:
<100 - No Change - You did poorly, but if you team managed to win your actions was not in vain, so your tier was right and will stay the same.
101-250 - Small Rise - You did what is expected from your tier and the team won, that means you will raise just a bit to give you more time to train before going to a higher tier.
251-399 - Medium Rise - You did more than expected and is getting ready to face harder opponents.
400+ - Biggest Rise - You proved your skills are much above your tier, wrecking faces and leading the team to victory, so you must move faster to the next one to save the scrubs from your mighty presence.

Loss:
<100 - Largest Drop - You are not ready to face the opponents suggested by your tier, so you must move down quickly before ruining your game experience.
101-250 - Medium Drop - Even doing the expected score to your tier, your actions did not helped much your team and it lost the match anyway, so you are moving down a bit - and if it keeps happening, you probably need to face easier opposition so your tier will be, eventually, downgraded.
251-399 - No Change - You did great but your team managed to lose anyway, so it's probably not your fault. Your skillz are right or even higher for the tier, so it will stay the same so you can prove yourself on other matches.
400+ - Small Rise - You proved you are much above your tier level and you don't deserve to play with the scrubs - who just made you lose the match - then you are moving up a bit to help reach the right tier for you.

Exactly 400 points in a loss does not raise your PSR. Needs to be 401.
