In MW4 there was a hack where a small lasers was respeced to do like 100 damage and gave the range of an er large or ppc. so normally the person using this hack would stack an er large laser on top of a small laser. It would look like you got smacked by an er large but you would take one hell of a hit. and since the small laser was such a crap weapon no one would use it. Just food for thought.

Yeah but this is MWO though, where most important stuff are on server side.

Once upon a time, you could do that.
In the testing grounds.

Server didn't let you do that in a live match.

You can't even do that in the testing grounds anymore...I would have enjoyed testing like that.

I didn't say anything about MWO, I was just remembering old hacks that got caught by punk buster and such. Like the jump jets on a nova. In mw4 that is.

I don't know if you remember MW4's mechlab... but things like LAMS, BAP, IFF, ECM and Jump Jets were toggles, a full on or off system, that allocated x tonnage for y ability.

Not every mech could select everything however... but by editing .ini files you could give mechs that shouldn't have said ability's the ability's. So you could have a standard atlas with jumpjets if you really wanted to. It was all a matter of adjusting the .ini files.

This fascinates me greatly.

Pray tell where would the JJ flame come out?

I don't remember MW4 much, I didn't liked most mech designes MW2 and MW3 were better there. So I haven't played MW4 to a remarkable degree. The Supernova was too uglyin that game to be worth sticking with it.

k, makes sense now, due to the NVA coming with JJ's by default. :P At least it should, could be it was without in MW4, lost nearly all memories on that game xD

In all irony the Nova Cat should have had jump jets as an option. Nova Cat Alpha comes with 4x ER LL, a targeting computer, Jump Jets, and enough double heat sinks to jump max distance while firing all of its lasers without generating any heat.
