No......

...See, in the lore, the Caesar was actually just a smokescreen to hide all the resources that were being put into developing the Axman. They basically publicized the heck out of it to throw the other houses off and keep the Axman a secret. That it turned out to be a decent mech in its own right was sort of an accident.

Not more "clones". Please.

Its like asking for the Penetrator when we are getting the Marauder; or asking for the Thug when we already have the Awesome.

Or worse, asking for the Flashman when we already have too many laser vomits.

We need mechs that allow unique configurations of weapons, engine size, mobility (JJ). not more clones.

Sorry bout that

How do you figure the Penetrator is a copy of the Marauder? Non of it's variants have ballistics, it has ECM and they aren't very similar looking at all.

If the rumors of a timeline move up are true... I want this http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Dragon_Fire

It looks badass and seems to be able to field a good mix of ballistics and energy.
And I do think that Alex could come up with a really cool design for this one.

How about you make the Ceasar PGI? :)

I can imagine the engineering team:

Anyways: not till 3067.

Marauder vs Penetrator

The Bounty Hunter can be easily configured into the PTR4D with 2 Large and 5 medium lasers (1 less ML).

The MARAUDER 5D can fulfil the PTR 4F variant with twin LRM 10 racks

and the 5M or BH can fulfil the PTR 6M variant

similar engine size, chicken walker profile, and with JJ

But if we do move the timeline.

Things will get interesting. Bandersnatch please. That is one unique mech with a lot of hardpoints.

I'd rather have this guy. Wouldn't mind another slow 100 tonner that can take on a whole lance.

That cockpit looks like a fire magnet. No thanks. Lolz. It is, essentially, the center torso.

Do want, with 6-8vballistic hardpoints spread across arms and torsos.

If you can get close enough. The Prime variant carried 4 LBX-10s and 4 Med. Pulse Lasers. Up close, this thing is deadlier than the other 100 tonners. Or the C2 variant which carried 4 Gauss Rifles, an ER PPC, and an ER Small Laser.

You would never see combat in an annihilator. In TT it moves 2/3 or something abysmal like that. In MWO, the thing would struggle to crest a hill with a gentle slope. Could you imagine trying to trudge across Forest Colony? :D

Yeah, since everyone leaves the assaults behind then whine why they have no heavy back up. It's not about speed or the first to battle. Have your team lure the opponents to it and it'll strip armor away faster than pole dancer that had just been given $500. In all seriousness, it's an ASSAULT mech, not a light or medium. It's not designed for flexibility, it's designed to be a wall to stop whatever force that's in front of it.

@Desenova

In certain game types, that lack of speed can hurt the team more than help. It's difficult to cater to a mech moving 30 kph when you have to cap points. Leaving it is a death note for the mech, staying with it may be a loss for the team. In defensive game types, particularly in Community Warfare, I could see it being a devastating pilar of destruction. Otherwise, I feel it's to slow to compete in stock config. You know, hypothetically. :)

Hate to utter this heresy in front of the faithful, but...

The best mech designs FASA ever made were stolen from Japan.

Could always put in a bigger engine and lose a weapon. I'm sure it'd do just fine. :)

OP the Caesar is based off the CTF-1X Cataphract. While a unique design it its own right, little would differentiate it from the Cataphract in MWO other than perhaps better hitboxes.

My own 1X actually uses a modified Caesar build. It packs regular mediums because the pulse lasers are too hot in conjunction with the ER PPC, several additional double heat sinks, and more Gauss Rifle ammo.

OP, why did you choose such a hideous old TRO picture for the Caesar when the 3050U one looks so much better?

Posted Image

I wouldn't mind seeing the Caesar added to MWO. It could use a new model and be linked to the Cataphract skill tree.
