For DEVs
I cannot help it... <_<

I play in the mech lab as you do... & i'll set up my mech, With certain guns in certain positions in their prospective positions available? Only to have it automatically switched to some fixed location
  • My suggestion is "Fixed hard point control" E.g: If I want my PPC to be on the top energy slot hard point of the BLR-1G(P), I may do so.

  • So I will be able to control, Where my guns are placed in their prospective positions available?
I want this so bad, I know you won't regret it ;)

See if I'm wrong ;)

Thank you for your time.

Sadly this is a known want and is residing deep within the 'perhaps but no time soon' and 'its not really necessary unless you are overly obsessive' piles.

Cool deep within the maybe section

May you please explain "obsessive piles"?

Your wrong it is necessary, It is just unprofessional to keep it the way it is. Why?
  • MechwarriorOniline is centered around the customization of said Battlemech.
  • Placement of weapons & the function that is not available (Read above post) directly affects the battlemechs performance in match.
  • Tell me why I should not be able to place what I want where I want, Instead of having a default system in place.(within a certain degree)
  • Am I designing the Battlemechs load out or not?

It was not my point of view, it was the stance the developers were taking.

I fully understand the need for control over weapon placement and have spent hours attempting to get the system to play nice with certain builds. The most annoying thing is its not even a 'first in first on' or any other logical ordering system some parts just refuse to sit where you want or need them to be... others refuse to just be symmetrical.

Its been broken a long time and in a way they considered mild enough to be unnecessary to devote time to fix, lets hope things change in the future. As things stand now this horse has a bad track record and many people let it loop the track out of pity.

Cool :)

Well I just wrote a whole post just to have it wiped clean by the... some button lol
When you figure out the issue, apply to all Battlemechs as you do.
Please update all the Battlemechs weapon aesthetics, Once issue is addressed & make changes in the one patch. :D
I know MWO is busy as it has community warfare and all to finish!!!
  • Does cry engine govern the placement?
  • Is it more a graphic issue or programming?
  • ???
Hey DEVs have you ever seen an mechwarrior franchised game, Where you saw the weapon modifications?
& not the stock build.
Yeah I'm reading your mind... hehe :D

All in good time aye  lol

Keep up the good work!

thank you for your time.

It would have to be a programing issue, seeing how different configurations "can" be achieved. However the choice seems more arbitrary than by rule. It should also be a relativity easy fix assuming they have not make a huge wreck of the way Mechs and their loadouts are written/read. Either by adding direct location order control or by pinning down less arbitrary placement rules.

Yep, we need some way to be able to clearly define which weapon system in which hard point we want.

The most silly case of this sort of misplacement which i had - was with a mech which had 2 missile hard points in its side torso, and, one hard point had 15 tubes, and the other had 20. So i installed LRM20 and LRM15 there. In this order. And i was happy to see that once i've put LRM20 on, - visible model of the side torso changed to have a missile pack with 20 tubes indeed. Assuming everything's ok, i went to battle. To much frustration, i discovered that LRM 20 is firing in two salvoes - while it was expected to fire in one salvo. So, after battle, i went to mechlab, took out both LRM20 and LRM15, and then installed LRM15 and after it - LRM20. I.e., opposite order. Went to battle. Guess what? LRM20 was still firing in two salvoes. Big question then is: 'xcuse me, but what's the point of one hard points having 20 tubes, if it can't fire LRM20 in one salvo no matter the order i install these LRM systems in?

Needin' fixin' here! :D

I just with I could mount my small pulse under my mediums... I like the thinner weaker beam to be on the underside... even more so when in fulls symmetric builds.

Let me just add another reason why this would be a good idea: a Banshee has loads of laser slots per side torso (sometimes both STs, some variants one ST). I want the sniping large to be in the upper part of the torso (shoulder) and the full broadside of mediums can go anywhere, like the hip area. Having it the other way around - and the reason is that the mesh aesthetics envision the large weapon hubs near the hips - is ridiculous.

Edit: what I wrote isn't quite true, I was just able to workaround by doing the couterintuitive (placing what I wanted to be in the top of the in-game model as the bottom few slots in the mechlab diagram). Didin't specifically look for an all-around solution, so this is just for Banshee 3M.
