I have played the Beta and I have reservations. I like the franchise though having played the previous titles so i will be getting this one too.

That being said, EA is evil and should die a slow and painfully bankrupt death.

However, even though EA killed Warhammer Online, it has been resurrected and shall LIVE ON!

Randomizing or semi-randomizing the capture points in Conquest would be a good start.

Did any of y'all try the Star Wars Battlefront open beta? Did you try the multiplayer bit?

Battlefront sucked!

Though, being EA, I did not expect much.

The gameplay was dumbed down. The graphics were amazing. The gameplay was dumbed down. The gameplay was dumbed down.

Lack of map
Lack of selectable spawns
Lack of vehicles on map to run to
Lack of bases
Lack of clear battle line
Abundance of enemies spawning behind you
Lack of classes

I could go on.

If you are going to pick a battlefield product for a game mode to model, pick Battlefield 1942 and its ticket style, multiple spawn/base capture/control gameplay. This is the same model that Mechwarrior Living Legends uses--and it is great.

Battlefront sucked. I'm taking the money I was going to spend on it and buy the next season of Elite Dangerous instead.

As a non star wars fan ( never seen the movies or played any of their games ) I tried this out because it showed up on origin and it didnt cost anything to try it. The graphics were beautiful, the game play was repetitive, although some parts like the heroes were fun. Trying to pilot ships on the PC was horrible. Getting one shotted by the sniper rifle was annoying. Overall I would play it if it was free. I would not buy it. The ice planet was one sided, I was only on a team where the rebels won once. Then someone told me that in the movie they lost so i guess it makes sense? The mud planet with the drop pods was just ok unless someone dropped and you were rolling an undermanned team. I'll be sticking to mwo for a while. I tried out the vermintide and rainbow six siege beta as well, neither was good imo.

I played the Battlefront open beta and loved it, but I'm a sucker for immersion. Advancing as a snowtrooper clutching a frost-coated E11 with a bunch of other faceless Imperial players with the AT-AT's advancing behind us made the kid in me jump up and down with joy. There were a bunch of unique and fun happenings in every match too - best was managing to complete a towcable run on an AT-AT's legs despite horrible mouse controls, second best was stepping on Luke Skywalker in an AT-AT (400 points!)

On a mechanical level it could use some polishing, but it's a beta so I'm hopeful for that. The different game modes idea would be awesome in MWO, but PGI is a small team and honestly I'm not sure how many different scenarios you can have for giant stompy death robots. I'd love a genuine obective-based scenario in a full-on metropolitan city area, but the current mechanics probably wouldn't make it feasible (would need crouching, proper jumping, maybe hand to hand). Ah well, maybe in the future  PSR changes ahoy and all that.

I havent bought any games from EA since the last 10 years i believe. Atleast yeaaaaars go.

They have became a terrible publisher. They royalled screwed multiple franchises over.

All they see is MONEY & ORIGIN (piece of utter spyware)

Yep. It's surprising more people don't see it. They just look at what sequels a huge amount of people are anticipating and make it as a slapped on together casual game that isn't even a real sequel. Just make some trailers showing off flashy graphics and sell that name. Oh everyone is begging for a BF2 sequel? Here, BF3 and we will falsely advertise it as a "true sequel" but it's actually just CoD with vehicles. Everyone is begging for a new BattleFront? repeat... (looks like they don't even need to false market this one though to be successful)

Luckily for me EA made it easy for me to not care at all. Not even tempted a bit to play there casual money grabbing titles.

They buy and close down smaller studios though. Or even the bigger ones.

Real shame. They're p.o.s.

They are bad but they have been getting better imo. They used to be the evil shitlord publisher but now they come in third, behind Ubisoft and Activision.
