So this might be a derpy question, but MechWarrior 4: Vengeance is a different game than MechWarrior 4: Merc isn't it?
If it is, is there a Free Download for Vengeance? I can only find Merc.

they're probably gonna move you to Off Topic
Yeah Vengeance is like the real game, with a story and plot and all that fun stuff, mercs is like an extra mode where you just are a merc doing contracts, not too much story involved or anything. I never had the game so right now I'm playing mercs. Vengeance is not free, you can't download that, but I heard mercs is actually better than vengeance anyways. Mainly because Vengeance is filled with cheesy, bad acting live action movie scenes.

Right on, Yeah I have played and beaten Merc so many times, just wanted something new.
And yeah your totally right about off topic, thats what I get for having like 8 tabs open in different parts of the forums at once, get a little lost sometimes. My Bad.

Mercs was way better in mech selection and corrected some of the bugs in Vengeance. The leading reason now of course, is MekTeks huge collection of mechs via their upgrades to the game in a lot of aspects. Believe it or not, 12 years after there is a substantial following on servers there as well.

Mercs looks like a straight upgrade over Vengeance; better graphics, bug fixes, cool new mission mode.
It's like the upgrade MW2:Mercs had over MW2.

Actually just got done playing both, and no, mercs does not look any better than vengeance. Nor does mercs have "no storyline"- there is a story there. Vengeance is no more buggy than mercs is. Mercs has Solaris which vengeance does not. The acting in vengeance is no worse than any of the other games, OTOH, vengeance does at least have live action cutscenes which mercs does not.. Mercs-especially the MekTek version has a lot more mechs and weapons to choose from. Also the ui and Mechlab looks better. Graphics are the same on both games. I do understand that there is a high res mod for mercs which vengeance does not have( I looked for it), so that may be construed as mercs having better graphics.

I liked Mech Warrior 4: Vengeance. I actually was really engaged in the story (it was my first real mechwarrior title) and the multiplayer was good too.

Be glad you played it now. I have two words for Vengeance, 1.1 patch.
