The PvP multiplayer is what I'd really like the most.

Does that mean you've changed your mind about tossing in for the kickstarter?

Only way we're going to see PvP is with more backers.

Including the Paypal funds, they're past 1.8 million now (1,813,298 according to the kickstarter page).

Should only take a day or two to hit the open-ended SP campaign.

Nope. I don't have any money. Literally.

Buy my book when it comes out and that'll help. It's off to beta readers.

There is always a major upswing in kickstarters the last 48 hours. I dont think its unreasonable to hit the multiplayer goal.

By my math we are at $1,816,599 right now. If we have another good day and a paypal update could hit the $1.85 million goal very soon.

Another Twitch or an AMA or something today. That'll fuel some interest, topped off with being a Friday and mid month, which means a lot of people's "Payday" comes around now.

I do think we'll hit 1.85 tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully before close of business though, because otherwise we won't see the new stretch goals until Monday when HBS is at work to update it!

As for 2.5? It's gonna be tight. It's not unreasonable to guess the last three days will get 500-600k, most kickstarters' last three days tend to be ABOUT half the first 3 days, give or take 10%. I think the frontloaded advertising of this one will probably mean we won't quite get 600k, and honestly, 200-300k is probably more realistic for the final blitz.

However, we do know there's still some more planned add ons they are trying to get approval for. Potentially new tiers too. Sadly, the full house banner set has been nixed :( - along with new factions. Those will help.

Really, I think a lot comes down to where we are in the last 3 days. Remember, they did something very right in their timing, it spans 3 entire calendar Months (September, October, and November), with start and end dates right around some of the most common paydays around. More importanting, the final push may well start October 30th - which will be the payday for people who have a Friday Payday, as well as Last OR First day of month paydays. So the impulse over the weekend may be strong.

If we manage 2.1 million by those last 3? I think PVP is a given. It does look tight though, if we hold steady at a lowpoint of 15k a day as has been pretty common when we're not getting a spike from Add Ons or whatever, we'll be just about 2,050,000 after 15 days going into the final 3. But we do look likely to exceed that number slightly, as the 15k is conservative, we're actually closer to 17k.

Personally, I think 2.3 million is about the lowest we'll make. 2.8 million is my optimistic 'highest' number. and based on all of the above? Those are pretty likely. That being said. 2.5 million is going to be a tough one. I give it about a 50-50 shot, depends how much all the MP only people are willing to take a risk near the end. Because that's a real wildcard, for sure.

Though for any PVP only people! Remember! You can always back out of your pledge the final hours if it's not looking likely before the KS ends! No risk that way, and it might help make the KS look like it will make it to that point for everyone else.

The question is, since HBS funded the first $500k, is that added to the total for a total of $2.2mil or do we go by what is raised in addition to this? I hope the former. :)

It's a shame that PvP probably won't make it, but that's not a surprise. The 2.5 mil goal is exponentially further away than the last goal.

Speaking of adding replay-ability, PvP would be the way to go. To be honest I don't really care about single player games that much anymore, I'm just waiting for the expansion that adds PvP. I basically want "official Megamek." I know that isn't what this game will be, but I love strategy games (played a lot of Starcraft) and I love PvP.

An updated/official megamek is exactly what I want. Basically all the Core Battletech rulebooks encompassing infantry, armor, battlemechs, aerospace, and jumpship/warship made as complex as the player(s) desire. I don't need fancy graphics, just some simple animations to show movement, attacks, and damage and I'm happy. :)

I don't see $2.5 million happening, which is fine with me as I'd rather have a solid singleplayer campaign than PvP. I think HBS could have done a better job attracting customers, or maybe incentivising greater contributions, if they had:

1. Revealed what's beyond the $1.85 million veil to get people excited.
2. Offered a package between $50 and $125.
3. Offered Clan, FRR, and Comstar $125 sets, despite not being in the game.

I feel they should definitely reveal the 1.85 stretch goals today. Since, well, they'll have the Stage 3 unlock this weekend. Better to have the incentive DURING the weekend and right after Friday Paydays and all, otherwise people will blow their money on booze this weekend. ;)

Based on Kickstarter progress alone, I'd say they'll make it somewhere past 2 mil, but not to 2.5. With Paypal funds added it might be possible. However, if they'll have a some sort of "slacker backer" program to continue past the kickstarter and count that money towards the goal as well, I'd say it's almost assured. Recently they added some digital add-ons, mainly pdfs of old Battletech sourcebooks. If they had the elusive Star League sourcebook in there I'd might be very tempted. Might grab something at the last 48 hour frenzy anyways.

Haven't backed this game yet. Will do so when I get my paycheck.

$50 bucks is a small price to pay, from the looks of it.

They should at least tell us that stage 3 is made of. 2 goal of stretch 2 were "buffer" goals that only exist to either help fund stage 3 or a previous goal they werent comfortable selling at the real price.

Remember with Kickstarter, you're not charged until the end (Unless you need to use the Paypal one), so you could pledge now and it wouldn't be any different than pledging when you get your paycheck. You can even raise or lower the pledge if you end up having something unexpected happen before the end of the Kickstart. :)
