In the community warfare clan forces should be organized into stars. 2 stars of 5 vs 12 inner sphere. That would balance the game with out giving the innersphere more weight to drop with.

Mostly, PGI argues that it would be too hard on the matchmaker..
Personally, I fail to see how or why, but if they say it is, I believe them.
I would love to play it like it should be, 10 vs. 12, and then kick the Freebirth vermin in the face with superior skill vs. superior numbers..
The problem though, is that this would only work for CW, and not for solo and group ques. There, mechs are already jumbled up together so they would either have to leave it 12 vs 12 or make it Clan vs. IS.
If they made a seperate que for Clan vs. IS, the already small player base would be further split apart, and the servers would once again have difficulty finding matches.
The only solution for this is a much bigger player base which will happen perhaps only after Steam release.
It could happen before, but since PGI's marketing is 80% word of mouth... this is unlikely.

Clan vs. IS should be 10 vs. 12 and IS mechs should not have the quirks and extra drop tonnage they get. Period.
As for the matchmaker, the solution is simple. Only drop IS against IS and Clan, Clan only against Clan and IS. No mixed teams. Those are stupid anyway. I think it would be good for the game and game balance. It also has nothing to do with player base or matchmaker. If a programmer tells you otherwise he is simply lying or incompetent.

Okay all good, but if we're going to go by the lore, then Merc Units can't join Clan Factions BECAUSE CLANS DON'T USE MERC'S!!! They killed them on site.... Nor should a Merc Unit that isn't an IS loyalist unit be allowed to take a single planet since they're paid to do a job and not to acquire any planets. Any planet they a Faction Loyalist Unit would normally win the Merc Unit wins it for the Faction they have a contract with. And Clans didn't really help to protect each others borders did they? NOPE... I seam to remember something about hwo the clans had an honor code or something like that.. lol
As for Organization: Many Players don't even look at Faction Chat. And we use 3rd party chat programs like teamspeak3 and C3, Steam and so on... It would be better if PGI offered a VOIP chat room for Loyalist of each faction so Faction Loyalist could really organize for CW. They could include it in the Training Academy Tutorial. Think of the potential if all the loyalist members of a faction KNEW they could reach out to our fellows and team up to deal with the Clan invasion.
