well just to be sure, when you purchase mechs with a la carte, I guess you wont receieve any faction content right ?
(ie collors + patterns)

And secondly, i read faq and there are 2 questions describing that if you have R variant, your camo is locked and cannot be changed.

But i changed my camo on my R variant succesfully.

Yes that is correct, no faction content for a la carte
And yes the special varients have the cammo pattern locked, you can change colours but not patternedit: if you have already got changable cammo then the texture artests must have found the time to do those varients, I belive the ® varients have some unique geometry which creates extra work for the texture artists[/edit]
PGI have said that they will allow other patterns eventually but that it is not high on the priority list.

Regarding the camo, that was meant for faction camo swap, for free, right ? I bought buccaneer camo and im using it on R regulary.
