Technically, it's where we are supposed to post for things to do with balance issues, ideas to improve mechanics, UI, etc.

But in my limited experience...it always SEEMS like a graveyard there....I even see Devs respond more in GenDis, than the Feature Suggestion where we are "supposed to suggest" crap.

So just curious, what the general consensus is for those in GenDis....which IS where we get the most traffic and posting........

Do you ever look in Feature Suggestions?

Post there?

Think it's a waste of time?

Thoughts?

kind of like Fan Art...but I'm kind of OK with that...because it keeps the general toxicity level down in the Creative Forums.

Egads...back in the old days before Open Beta, the amount of tryhard butthurt whining even on Art threads.... SMH......

Feature Suggestions feels like it is more about new things than about changes to old things. General Discussion also gets a lot more traffic and discussion. This results in balance suggestions being posted in GD instead of FS.

Yeah, kind of how I feel. I try to behave (sometimes) and post like they tell us..but it feels pretty pointless.

You want any action, or debate, GenDis is where it is.

No one reads it especially PGI. At least here some posters may see it.

As a person who just posted a thread about a Game play / Balance idea in general. No I don't look over in the suggestions section, Its been DoA for Years now. There is no real forum organization or moderation there (or here to be honest) Community Management has never been something IGP/PGI has been good at. I posted in General most to get veteran Players opinions since this is the most active section of the forums these days. I have been around long enough to know, if I really want to try to push my idea to the Devs I would get a twitter account and bug Russ or Paul till they responded or Banned me.

PGI split their forums into the 25 different subforums so that they could hide issues and make it more difficult for players to band together to get something addressed without it being closed and moved.

If you honestly want something from PGI you need to use Twitter.

My view , They have so many things they need to do they will never have time for our ideas. So why waste our time.

The answer to this is for the Mods to move threads.

Ive down a fair bit of time as admin and mod on forums with various topics, its usually the 2nd-3rd option in the mod action dropdown. If the admins made it a policy it would add negligibly to the mods work, which costs zero because as is the norm mods are volunteers who get rank and privs for comp.

Don't expect them to move molehills though, these forums are neglected by the admins. Or am I the only one who notices how buggy it is?

IMHO, Feature Suggestions is designed poorly. It SHOULD be the place where MWO players can make, as the title says, suggestions to PGI regarding features for MWO. Other players should NOT be able to comment on the suggestions because they're suggestions to PGI and no one else (though they should still be able to "like" the suggestions). PGI should have someone assigned to look in that subforum at the start of every day to see if there's a good suggestion. It's not like there's a flood of suggestions every day so it shouldn't take long to check each one out.

I think perhaps one should have the option....some people do want feedback from other players, sometimes, too.

I bet Feature Suggestion is meant to be a tar pit for ideas. PGI knows that's where ideas go, so they know that's where they don't have to ever read.

I visit it briefly to scan for new stuff if I'm bored. Generally I just use it for polls that I tend to link to GD. Haha

Not unless I'm drunk and bored. It's proven to be a pretty big waste of time to even have that sub-forum.

Nope I swore never to post there again 2 years ago I think. Because there is no reason to. No devs ever look at that. Ever.

My first posts were done there, but it wasn't getting any attention so I gave up and moved over to general discussion.

Plus 2nd reason being there is already EVERYTHING 10 fold there. You could make 10 completely different MWO games with all the ideas there. But nothing happens and if then in utlra slow motion.
