Hey guys, does anyone have a good build for the CTF-1X? I've spent millions of CBills on the thing and still can't get it to perform better than my hunchbacks...

Right now I'm going with gauss + 3 tons of ammo + 3 large lasers in arms. 300XL engine, endo, double heatsinks, near max armor, 69.4kph.

The alpha damage is at 42, which ain't a lot, but I can focus it well on one location - and I can fire the lazors for quite a time. Still - I did more damage with my hunchbacks! Any advice on how to do better with it will be appreciated.

Engine standard 260
SHS=20
Endo steel

1x AC/20 mitt 5 tonnes of lovely ammo
4x Medium lasers (Chainfired)
1x AMS with one ton of AMS ammo
Armor=400/433

Not really a long range fighter, and you still have to be carefull up very close, but i really enjoy this build

Depends on what range you want to work at. Depends on what speed you want to move at.

I personally love clustered Large Lasers on any mech. A couple large, a couple medium, and a hefty ballistic to top it off could work, or go whole hog with 4x large laser. Ultra/5 and AC/2 are great mid/long ballistic weapons as well.

The 1x is my favorite variant, mine has:
5 med lasers
1 gauss
4 tons gauss ammo
Ams 2 tons ammo
300xl
Max armor except like 50 in legs
18dhs and standard armor and structure. I love this build one of my most successful builds right there with my ac20 catapult.

XL325 for 75kph speed
AMS with 2 tons ammo
2 LLas
3 MLas
21 DHS to have enough cooling power for heavy laser usage
430/434 armor - for me it's maxed

PLUS 1 MG with 3 tons ammo for trolling!

1 LLas more and 1 MLas less would be possible but that won't be heat efficient and therefore wasted tonnage.
I could swap the MLas for MPLas and opt out on the MG but I want the range of the MLas for earlier alpha damage.

I've been having fun in this mid range fire support:

280 STD
2x LL (R. Arm)
3x ML
AC/10 (3-4 tons)
AMS (1 ton)
Endo-Steel
DHS

Decent speed, a solid punch (28) at 500ish meters from the target. Alpha of 43. If you feel too fragile having all your heavy hitters on the right side, feel free to toss the LLs around.

Mine is running:

280 standard
400 armor
15 DHS
endo-steel
AC/20 in the RT
4 tons of AC ammo
ER large laser in the RA
4 x medium lasers in the rest of the slots

It runs a little hot when firing 4 ml + AC repeatedly, but usually it doesn't take more than a couple of those to blow someone up or make them scurry off. The ER laser I added because it's just nice to have at least 1 weapon you can poke a far away enemy with, even if your mech is a short ranged brawler. It has saved my bacon when the AC/20 breaks or runs out of ammo, does good dmg out to 675m but have to watch the heat.

I'm running close to the default loadout from a weapons standpoint. Went with endo and DHS, then pulled the PPC out for a LL and maxed out the armor. The heat isn't too bad, and the firepower is plenty to burn things down up close. Works pretty well. I'm actually kind of surprised with how well the AC/10 does when you group it with the LL... Was thinking of going with an AC20 though instead (like Pancho).

Simple.

4 LL, 300 engi, 20 DHS (10 engine DHS + 2 Engine slot DHS + 8 DHS).

This build gets me near top damage everytime. You have to be alittle careful with the heat, but it works well.

My current build is:
Standard 280 engine (or the default one)
5x medium laser (group 1 alpha, group 3 chainfire)
1x AC20 (with 4t ammo in legs)
6x DHS
Almost maxed armour

This build can support up to 3 alpha strikes (all med lasers and ac 20) until you get the heat warning. The double heatsinks and pilot lab skills will allow u to continuously fire the AC20 and still be heat efficient. Or you can wait a few seconds to let the heatsinks do their job. This mech's a beast when paired with an ally to draw fire or 1v1 any slow mechs. You'll be able to hold off against most scouts with ur 5x med lasers.

The downsides are that this is a missile magnet and good enemy pilots. As long as you don't go over ur heat limit, then watch ur damage done skyrocket!

For longer range sniping - PPC/UAC5 sniper
UAC5 though great for sniping works not so well in close, you can consider to exchange it for LBX10 which can offer better self-defense.

Yeah. I know it's weird, a Cataphract fully armed with energy weapon and no ballistics. But this is what I'm gonna build next, because my twin-gauss Ilya and quad-AC2 4X have overdone the ballistic platform awesomeness way too much.

More or less what I use on the 3D but I have a UAC5 and SHS instead. For the 1X I would suggest the MAD-3D Marauder, as it's a dual ERPPC, Guass variant and you can slap in a few ML, just use a 280XL, endo and DHS. My 2X is very similar but I drop the medium lasers for a pair of SSRM2's with a ton of ammo for opportunity shot's on light's not under ecm.

The heat efficiency is such that those with control can easily brawl to deadly efficency or counter snipe... which with a 35 point alpha out to 800m easy can keep their heads behind a hill.

Wow this is an old near necro-thread but I'll add to it. I prefer a fast simple loadout of 1 AC20 and 5ML

I am currently enjoying one that TPD is suggesting, it nice brawler setup. However I would like to suggest 5LL for the change (but you need an EX eng for that)
