Hello, I just patched the game, and seem to be getting the message The program can't start because d3dx9_43.dll is missing from your computer. try reinstalling the program to fix this problem". Do I really have to reinstall the whole game?

Head here to download the DirectX End-User Runtime. Install it, then attempt to run MWO again and let me know if the error persists.

where do I put it. The program just asks for a destination. Won't let me place it in any mwo folders(bin32 bin64)?

@ Alexander Garden

I followed the link, downloaded the file...(placed in user > appdata > temp folder.

It went through the scanning and extracting...

I am still getting the "Program can't start because d3dx9_43.dll is missing from your computer". It has been doing this since this last update (October 20,2015).

Do I just need to uninstall the whole game and reinstall?
Or is there another step I am missing after the extraction process?

I downloaded this as well, and I am still getting the same error "Program can't start because .dll is missing from your computer."

Really need some help here as I should not have to get a gd software engineering degree to fix this issue. Either fix it or refund the money I spent on this game.

At this point I am fine with either as I figure you are going to have more issues in the future with patches and patches for patches.

I do expect someone to let us know what you plan on doing by tomorrow.

After you download that .exe, run it. It will ask you where to extract its files, pick a folder.
When it's done extracting go to that folder and run DXSETUP.exe.
Accept the license-blabla and let it run. Done.

@ Ironwithin, Thank you! Had to save it to a created temp file. The one in the appdata was not allowing the .exe for some reason. Saving it to a temp folder created on the desktop allowed the dxsetup.exe to run. Odd that I had to do it that way...but it works. Again...thank you.

If you're getting DLL errors after completing the installation of the linked DirectX file, head here to download and install the Visual C package.

Not sure why this issue is coming up for you all after this patch, but I'm looking into it. For anyone effected by this, can you list out for me your current operating system?
