Looove the Wolfhound, but same issue as my Huginn, as soon as I see a Cheetah, I'm dead :(

Why the Chetton fear??
God it ain't that good. ... just endo steel and ff wlf .
Mpls or mls would shred the cheto....it losses weapons space because of jjs...not an issue the wolfy has.
Held my own against a chetto last night right up until his assault Lance flanked and squashed me lol

No kidding, that sounds like it would be hot. That would be hot for any light (basically a medium mech load out).

Try reducing those MLasers to SLasers or SPLasers. Maybe try 1 LLaser (or maybe a LPL), 2MLasers, 2 SLasers.

Maybe even replace the LPLaser with a PPC *shrug*

I mean, this is a light mech after all, they don't run too cool anyway.

now that the arctic cheeto is for c-bills, i sold all my wolfhounds after a try or 2 (i didn't want them anyways, it was just cheaper to include them then to exclude them). after buying the cheeto.. the wolfhound is ok (a weaker firestarter) but the cheeto is leagues better still.

At the moment; yes because of the ECM. When ECM gets changed...we will see.
What people do forget is that the Wolfie is pretty agile, turns incredibly well. However, I feel the lack of JJ

I found even a build on one Wolfie Variant which easily rivals a FS and ACH.

or simply remove 1 mlaser, downgrade to a 280xl and some DHS. I think people are trying to over gun it. WLF-1 with a lvl 5 Mlaser Range module adds 25% to the MLs range, so I would not use SLs on that one. Actually, my current is 300xl, ERLL, 3x ML.

Solo queue trolls with Streakcrows vs. unbasiced Wolfhounds. Well played.

And that is why you keep the Large Laser, bait the Streakcrows into chasing you back to your heavies and assaults while you stay just out of range. If they don't take the bait pick them apart at range.

My Wolfhound stats so far.

The 1A is the only one i have unlocked all elites for so far. The only weapons i have been using across all three varaints are medium lasers. So for me at least it's a pretty good pug queue light.

You take a build like that and blame the chassis?

I run mine with 3 x ERLL...boy it is so slow and heat disipation is crap. Clearly it is the chassis fault. And **** this Mechspec.com. Nothing in there. I need to think a bit and need to come up with my own build.

Sarcasm aside: Yeah, it is easier to blame other things but yourself ;)

what's up with all those STD builds out there? Every second or so wolfhound loses a side torso, laughs at me and runs away...

So far I've played nothing but stock. (4xMLas 1x(ER)LLas)
Works like a charm. No need for an alternate weapons loadout.

Fastest 35 ton mech in the game.

But without jumpjets that's not really anything worth mentioning.

Yes and Yes. In my case its cost (seeing I don't share engines) and paranoia, but much like the Panther, once I've gotten a better feel for them I'll start to branch out a bit more.

I'm hoping to see some Wolfhound sniper / fire support mechs on the battlefield. Not just MPL boats.

It's kind of a shame that PGI has basically made the Raven the ultimate long range laservomit light, because it would have been better to assign that role to the Wolfhound, while keeping the Firestarter as the short range laservomit light.

I'm looking to fill this role... IF I can break my habit of finding the enemy and wading in!

Last ACH I meet with mine wanted to run.
He wanted to run, but couldn't. My Wolfy killed him before.

I remember my first time facing a Wolfhound on TT. It survived 3 turns against a Heavy Lance killing 3 Mechs in the offing! No Sir, I don't underestimate a Wolfhound. Unless... I'm the pilot!

I'm not a light driver by any means, but I'm having some serious fun with the Hound.
