I am overall satisfied with the R2 pack. There are a few variants that will definitely not keep a spot in the garage, but in each chassis I have found at least one that is for sure a keeper. Not going to jump the gun and offload any thus far, but some of my favorites:

MAL-1P: STD320, 2xGauss, 4xML
MAL-MX90: STD 300, 4xUAC5
MAL-1R: STD 320, 2xAC10, 2xLPL, AMS

BLK-6b-KNT: STD320, 9xMPL

CRB-27b: 270xl, 3xLPL

WLF-1: 310XL, 6xML.

(jury is still out on wolfie as I need to elite before I can form a good opinion)

So, what are your thoughts. Despite the lack of variation/quirks within the chassis, what is working for you? Are you satisfied? Personally, I don't expect PTW packs, so I would have a hard time being disappointed in these.

I don't regret buying it but overall there is nothing in the stable that blows me away. All of them are just ok, none of them do anything different or better than anything already in the game.

I've been taking a break from the game so I have only barely played the Crab and haven't tried the Wolfhound yet. I did elite the Mauler and Black Knight though.

I love the Mauler. It is a wicked fun mech and I always seem to do well with it. So fun.

The Black Knight looks absolutely amazing, but I found it a bit lackluster with the low mounts and no JJs. I used to be pretty hard on it initially, but as I played it, it morphed from complete dislike to more of a meh. It is great looking at least.

Again, not much seat time with the Crab. I think it will be pretty decent for me. I will probably still end up picking my Hunch 4P whenever I get the laser vomit bug though.

No experience with the ugly duckling Wolfhound, but from what I have been reading, it sounds like a nice light. I think that opinion is taking a lot of people by surprise.

From what I've played, its a decent pack. I love it for the Mauler. The BK and Crab probably won't be used much (Stick to Jester and Hunch 4P), but the Wolfhound will probably get some use once I return to playing MWO. It seems like a good laser compliment to my Panther 10K (other Panthers collecting dust).

I initially thought that the crab would be shelf space for me but considering how rugged it is and its small profile, a 3xLPL punch is a good recipe for me.

I wasn't impressed with Mauler in the least.

It feels clunky, restricted, and slow. With an XL it's extremely squishy. I played them enough to elite all of them up, and honestly would rather be in my 10 ton heavier KGC.

The Black Knight is an unexciting build, somewhat ok, but there are other heavies that are deadlier.

The Crab and Wolfhound, admittedly haven't played them enough to like or dislike them yet. Though I am disappointed in the weapon hard points on the Crab...

I bought Maulers and crabs , a la carte.

Maulers are best assaults for me, definetly more durable then atlases. With atlases I cant pass 800 damage, while with maulers i have done 1100 and 1300. (also 7 kills twice).

Crabs are very cute mechs. Small. Xl variant with 2 LPL, 2 ML, 1 SPL is very powerfull.

I could never get the hang of the KC. I think it is mostly with how far apart the arms are. Having the ballistics a bit higher and in the torso just seems to suit me better. I also remember the King Crab feeling slower and more lumbering than my Maulers, but in guessing that isn't the case by the sounds of it.

6 ac2 mauler with manageable heat and a nearly endless supply of ammo? Laughs aplenty hammering away at those pesky ecm covered mechs that think they are ninja shadows.
