SO. Been playing this game as F2P - apart from being gifted the jag pack. First mech I decided to buy - cause <3 oldschool battletech, the Marauder.
Been looking at builds. To run sexy stuff you gotta run an XL, 3lpl gauss - 5mpl gauss or 7mpl gauss on the Hero. 5lpl also looks ok and maybe some sort of uac5/ac5 combo too.
however its arms shield exactly none of its XL shoulders. aka XL stalker. Anyone think they are going to give it quirks so it doesn't become a flying Orion to be benched? and the only way to run it is like that ****** CTF-0XP with AC20/gauss and 4MPL - that even has ECM and It still sucks.
It has to be better than the grasshopper 3lpl 4 med for me to take it in CW. and that hopper is a petty bad ass mech at only 70 tons. Im leaving out comparing it to TDR-5SS cause well, doesn't need to be god mode - just beast mode like the hopper.
if its gona be better than the Hopper - its gona need some hardcore quirks, what are your thoughts on the quirks PGI will give it?????

What I can assure you of is that its quirks will be insignificant.

Maybe they'll have to give it structure quirks to accompany the STs and CT.Them torsos ain't XL friendly.

From what I've seen, it looks like the MAD is going to have a lot of surface area in the CT department, so depending on how they divvy up the hitboxes it might actually end up being XL friendly. Well, as friendly as anything heavier than a light can be anyway. So I'm not sure what you're basing that assessment on.

Anything that's a heavy basically, lol. (IS that is)

Just run it with the default engine and with endo you have 32 tons of stuff with near max armor.
That can be a guass and 2LPL without much trouble. Hell, you can fit FF on as well if you like so long as you don't use too many DHS.

True for the most part, though I hear Dragons are somewhat XL friendly. But if you want to run the build I'm considering, (1 Gauss, 2 ER PPCs, XL 360), you pretty much need an XL. Max armor, 35 PPFLD alpha at a good long range, able to snap and twist, and good speed for an IS heavy. I'm betting it'll give just about anything a run for its money.
Edited for epic math fail.
