We have reached a stage where matchmaking is once again looked into.

I wish to suggest some concrete ideas that may help revitalise the game and make it fun again.

All current game modes including CW and matchmaking should be relooked at from a different angle.

Game mode: Inner Sphere versus Clan (Role Play)
Limitation: You have to drop in groups of individual lances and stars.
Matchmaking: Lobby showing slots for individual lance/star to fill.
Map selection: All
Map Rules: Inner Sphere verus Clan. 3 IS Lances (consisting of 1 light,1 medium and 2 heavy/assaults) versus 2 Clan Stars (consisting of 1 light, 2 mediums and 2 heavy/assaults)
Win Condition: Kill all mechs or Capture a base point.
Remarks: Main objective is to create a good challenge for both parties with varied drop decks. Rewards: BETTER rewards for winning the game outright. Map rules can be tweaked weekly for variety.**

Game mode: Solaris Game mode (1v1)
Limitation: Trial Mechs not allowed
Map selection: Small maps or a section of big maps(including CW maps!)
Categories: IS or Clan Light versus Light, Medium versus Medium, Heavy versus Heavy, Assault versus Assault, Free for All (a light can versus a assault)
Daily Leaderboards with ELO matchmaking and rankings. Every month all ELO and leaderboards will be reset.
Map rules: Suitable Maps with "king of the hill mechanics". If either mechs are not killed, victory is considered by capture points on a SINGULAR "conquest" point somewhere in the middle of the map. A draw is possible in some circumstances.
Remarks: This will give many players out there a chance to test their mettle and sharpen their skills. Main thing is it is fun and competitive at the same time. Legit bragging rights for the top 10 on the leaderboards and lots of strategy/tactics involved. Possibility of adding 2v2 mode.

Game mode: Draft STOCK mode (similar to what you see in MOBA games)
Description: Viable "competitive" variants of EVERY mech in the game is PRE-CONFIGURED and available to be chosen. No more min maxing. PGI will balance the mechs via builds with feedback from the community. Every mech build should be competitive to some degree. It doesn't matter if some mechs are better or more popular than others. Everyone has access to the same mech.
Possibility: Endless
Map selection: Random
Map Rules: Kill All Mechs/Capture/Defend a Point or anything interesting.
Matchmaking: Solo or groups can join. Preferable to match groups versus groups, and some form of ELO/Tier matching.
Drafting Lobby: 12 Players are arranged randomly from top to bottom. Lobby chat available to discuss picks. Players from 1 down to 12 are given a time limit to lock in their selection sequentially. No selection after time expires => system will automatically pick for you.
Limitation: Possible enforcement of chassis or tonnage limits or a combination of both.
Remarks: Varied playing experience with different mech builds and balancing the power of different mechs. The important ideas here are building stock models with maybe fixed consumable and modules options, and allowing matchmaker to quickly put 24 players together and letting them decide the mechs within a lobby.
There will also be other issues with draft mode as players from different groups may not see eye to eye with one another.

PGI money making model has to be changed substantially. If you guys can see the big picture, the reason why current modes are SO limited and uncreative are due to the fact that they want to make us grind for the mechs or pay to get the mechs/lessen the grind. You see where this is leading to? Part of the main reason why the game is stagnant is due to the profit motive. Simple as that. There is so much that can be done with this IP, even with the limitation of cryengine and whatnot.

These are ideas which can be built upon to improve the game substantially. At this point, the game is just meaningless death matches rolling pugs or being rolled. It is time PGI re-examines the core of the game modes and surprise us on a scale that does them credit.
