Sometimes in a battle it is required to say "Heeeelp me!" to your team, but there is no time for typing.
I suggest to add the control that will show the yelling member on a mini-map by flashing and/or different color.

There are lots of things that needs to be done with the Combat Chat screen. Others may advise do not wander too far from the mass. Others will pop in saying there is VOIP. But I do like your idea, especially in a multinational-type game where may be language barriers.
Edited changed one advise though to Others may advise /thus being snarkie
I agree, make it a poll in Features.

I like this idea and, while your advice is spot on, it doesn't cover every variable. Sometimes the mass is being flanked unaware and you're too busy trying to dodge incoming fire to type out the warning. I want to be able to hit F1 and it posts an SOS with coords. That's a fantastic idea.
Of course there is VOIP, as you say, but some of us play on all the servers and English isn't everyone's language of choice. On top of that, I don't use voip because I have kids and I'm tired of having to hurry up and find a mute button while someone 12 year old starts screaming about how the other team...or our team...is a bunch of inercoursing non-heterosexuals. And of course someone will follow this up with "wear earphones", thus identifying themselves as not someone with a 5 year old running around the house.
Mars you shoul dhave made this a poll. More people will vote on it than post I bet.

(chuckles) Unfortunately some of us can not wear full headsets but use a one ear/mic setup. The headset/mic may have a mute key, unfortunately there is not a mute for those in the house

I generally put UAVs on my assaults for just this reason - if a light starts slicing me up, I pop the UAV and then say so in chat.
That way, even if I die, my teammates can get a bead on the ankle-biter and avenge me.
