My OP is about the "Owned Dye" tab and selecting existing dyes you have. Its so ******* hard to see dark dyes you have and finding them all in the assortment of the darkened out un-owned colors.

I have colors I have that are dark, and brown and for the life of me I cant find them now because they blend in completely with the ******* un-owned colors. What a pain in my ASS! Seriously, I love the tab layout but its extremely frustrating spending 15 minutes trying to find the color I'm looking for. Having to pan meticulously through every dark color I have. The same can be said with light colors as well that can blend in with basic colors that are un-owned.

Keep the color tab you have currently, its nice but completely remove colors that you dont own in the "owned section" Its impossible to find colors in a timely mannor you own.

Also remove colors in the Un-Owned tab that you already have so you can pick through colors you already have. Its extremely meticulous, and frustrating sifting through this construct of wasted color spaces I have.

This is very annoying, but I'm under the assumption that it is a bug. If you select specific categories, the outlines get highlighted so you can easily distinguish which colours are in that category. I can't see why this shouldn't also be the case if you select "Owned" or "Sale", but for some reason, it's not happening with the latter two cases...

It's not a bug, It's just plain and simple failure of PGI to design User Interfaces.

Double click to select?
Automatic channel switching on select?
Filter by making non-filtered colours darker?

Yeah, PGI should hire a god damned UX designer already and fix that ****. You should never let programmers or artists design interfaces

Completely agree. It is way too frustrating to select the colors you own from the ones you do not when they are filtered.

The problem is its not a list that can just be 'populated' or so it looks. Ideally eliminating all the unused colors in the palette would be the best choice but unless its a populated list and not a static UI piece, it won't happen.

Alternatively, having a customizable 'saved' (probably user side as its just a setting options basically) palette that we can put colors where we want them (make it maybe 8-12 colors or something) as a quick palette so we have access to colors we use often or want readily available for use on newly acquired mechs.

I am not a fan of this new system either. Took me several minutes the other day to find the black I actually owned. The double click to select and automatic channel shift is irritating as well.

So don't double click, you can drag and drop the colors in just as easy.

In response to finding the black you actually own... yes it was difficult the first time, and in the owned colors selection it should be highlighted (I dont know why its not). However, if you go in the dropdown tab you can see exactly where that Obsidian, or Hotrod black is if you select the corresponding menu. Now finding my colors are as easy as "Going 6 and a half pages to the left" on the old color selection screen.

All they have to do to make me happy, is give the 'Owned' tab the same white highlights as the specific color group filters.

The filter function for it is...disappointing. I preferred the old interface - that way I could actually and easily get at all the colours I own...

Things needed:

1. Better 'Owned' color sorting.

2. Check Box to enable/disable automatic color channel shift.

3. Option in the settings to switch between single/double click color select (or simply another check box like the color channel shift).

I think the color swatches need some work too personally. It just seems far too random and all over the place. Plus some don't even look like the colors they end up being...

I'm color blind so I already have a challenge in finding greens and reds that look different, now its a much bigger challenge.

Yeah it would be really nice to hide, not just grey out, the stuff you don't own.

Or at least a tiny little black/white (depending on the color hue) X over it so we know its not owned?

It's far better than the old one, but it still fails in ways which are so simple to fix that it's infuriating.

1. Yes, I like option two

2. I can't think of a good reason for colour shift. Ever. Just remove it

3. I can't think of anyone who'd choose to have to click twice, as single click literally does nothing on this screen. Double click is not used anywhere else in the UI either. Just change it to a single click.

3 simple things and I'd be 99% happy with the change.

Agree. Proper Hue/Saturation/Brightness reposition of the colors would also help a whole bit. Hue up-down, less saturated/lighter to the left, more saturated/darker to the right. Currently it's a mess which no half-baked artist would tolerate.

It's BT man, they had to put a hex grid system in somewhere :)

I still like it.

Also the sort feature is enough for me to easily pick out stuff though I can see the issue for people who are color blind or borderline.

I'm not colorblind and have pretty good vision, but even I have to stop and carefully look to see which colours are filtered or not, especially for colours that are already dark.
