I should not be spending more time waiting for a game than playing. It's even worse when you consider that the first minute or two of a game is just walking toward the enemy. Also many games are artificially dragged out by one guy running, hiding, or disconnected at spawn.
I think one easy solution to improve the Match Length: Search/Load ratio would be to decrease the maximum pre-load countdown from 60 seconds to 30 seconds.
Another more radical change would be to keep all the connected players together and just scramble the teams. Any slots where players disconnected could be grabbed by matchmaker.

Thats just it though, its about the same even at night time during peek times. I honestly dont get it. Ive been watching and recording times since PSR came out and its been awful. Its almost like tier 1 players get the shaft and have to wait twice as long as anyone else, its BS. I didnt pay $700 on this game to deal with this crap. I just want to play the game and blow up mechs, but PGI is making it so I can only get in half the games I normally could during a day/night off from work.
Reduction in play time check
less c-bill earnings check
frustration check
complaining on forums check
not having fun check
why am I playing this silly game still.

*points at your tier ranking* That's your problem. Since you're tier 1, you're restricted to playing those that are no lower than tier 3. 'Tis the price of being good.
If you want to drop tiers quickly so that you can get matches quicker, I've got some ways that you can do that:
- Play light mechs, as contrary to popular belief, light mechs are very feeble & defenseless against anything that isn't in their own weight class. Thus you'll likely become dead weight to your team, & your ratings will sink like the Titanic.
- If on the other hand, you are a part of the .0000000000000000000001% of pilots in which light mechs happen to be your forte, the solution is to simply play Assaults. The steps that you can do in those is, charge into the front-line, become public enemy #1 for the other side so that they can deliver onto you the Battletech equivalent of DBZ's Kamehameha.

- AI mechs have been added to solo queue matches to significantly reduce wait times.
- If a match is not successfully created after 30 seconds, the match maker will populate empty slots with AI bots to fill the slots and balance the match.
- The mech for the bot follows the 3/3/3/3 rule and will be selected randomly from a list of champion mechs within the required tonnage range.
Is this what you want, OP?

It's 90 seconds and it's that high to allow people that are playing on potatoes to connect before the match begins.

Oh wow it's worse than I realized! I know why it's there I just don't like the fact that 23 people get held up by one doofus trying to play on a netbook. Either way, the majority of the spawn points are spaced far enough away from the enemy that they should have time to connect and catch up.

Why not, most people act like bots anyway, and the try hards use aimbot with radar hack. It feels like bots already. At least ill get c-bills faster.
