I thought about how to possibly balance the game and counter excessive high alpha builds ala 8 laser weapons beeing played by a majority of players.
Reintroduce mech repair cost.Do it that way that you pay for each installed weapon system
a noticable amount of cbills to repair it after your mech was destroyed.
Kinda like:
1x med laser = 50k cbills repair cost
8x med lasers = 400k cbills repair cost
or
1 erppc = 150k cbills repair cost
4 erppc = 600k cbills repair cost
you get the idea?.....
people woud have to decide if such mega heavy weapon boating in the end make sense
when they see the repair bill and it woud create a new way of mech building.
Economic mech building, you woud have to balance the tech and the cost to repair it.
Sure, it woud be a completely different gameplay experience but in the end it woud
possibly solve this one big problem of people packing all kind of modules and tons of weapons
on their mechs, creating brutal devestators that exterminate balance without even the smallest
drawback by doing it.
I know its very unlikely such massive change will come, but i woud appreciate it for my part,
and i know that it woud become challange in the resource sector.
But without restrictions there wont be reason....
way ca

What about those people that are not so good or you just have a bad day and you run out of money? How do you get back into the game if your components stay destroyed? The chances of makeing enough money with only half your mech intact is pretty bad. Resulting in even less income.

there are still trial mechs that coud the job.Sure they are sub optimal, but you coud also build your mech that way that you dont make extreme - when gettin destroyed.
thats the point of this idea

So... you loose a completely stock Hunchback 4P (8 ML and 1 SL) and you make a loss even on a really, really good game with premium time activated.
Definitely a complete no to this suggestion. Adjust the prices to something feasable,. such as 5000 Cbills tops for an average component (That would still be 40K cbills for the poor Hunchie pilot) and it might just have a snow balls chance in Hell to survive.
On the other side... this will absolutely promote cowardly and selfish gameply as no one wants to loose their precious mech.
This suggestion does absolutely nothing to hold any player in the game and would be more harmful than helpful to getting and keeping new and old players.

Lets see, how many C-bills did you get for the match after you put your Mech back together. None. Thats too bad.
