So, I've been bummed out by the lack of any sort of forward momentum from PGI lately. It felt like things were looking up for quite sometime after the separation from IGP, but now I feel like things are at an all time low (I'll spare you a laundry list). And, possibly in free-fall without some sort of revolution...

Anyway, I was contemplating asking for a refund on my Marauder pack, to fund my 'Rebel Galaxy' purchase. What my friends are reviewing as an excellent spacer sim. I guess it just amazes me that I can purchase a fully developed title (with very positive reviews) for $20 when I've invested loads more into this title, and three years later we're still in open beta mode. Ready to start yet again from scratch, ditching quirks for infotech. I guess I can't help but wonder what portion of my funds go to actual development vs supporting others who ride the F2P train?

I'm not regretting my investment, per-se. Caveat Emptor, for sure. I'm just curious what you guys think?

EDIT. Apologies. I read that differently than it was intended.

So get your money back.

It is really, really frustrating that we have been lied to so much about development and that it is so slow. I think they are hopefully being more truthful now, but there is still not much progress toward adding more to the game.

Well MWTactics certainly didn't use up any funding for this game, and the same goes for Transverse. MWO was completely unaffected by those. Yup.

Must be all those $250k maps soaking up the cash.

I could care less about a player who is considering leaving.
You are of no benefit to your fellow teammates and MWO.

Enjoy your empty CW and longer wait times in the queue.

If you mean how much cash to they have above operating expenses I think the results speak for themselves. They are doing pretty well but OPEX is a big demand on income. Need more paying players to give them more overhead to build. Steam release may just do that. They have built slowly but with gaining momentum but have not hit the hockey stick moment.

So we should beg fellow players to stay? If they don't like the game they would only be a hindrance.

People really need to think their purchases through. Instead of putting support through the wringer on a whim.

In regards to development stagnation...

While I agree development feels a little mired right now bare in to consideration PGI is obviously not known for rapid production but also realize there is plenty of development happening at bench level that not publicly discussed as well as a number of re-balance / re-design initiatives taking place all at the same time.

Point is, there will always be peaks and vallies in production cycles.

Also, technically everything a Game Developer does on the clock is part of the game dev process.

Yes. Even when we goof off and talk about hypothetical superpowers.

Get your refund. The cash flow to PGI needs to end until they do right by their word. Get CW to an acceptable state.

Will he? A metacritic user score over 8 seems pretty decent. Here is MWOs metacritic for reference - http://www.metacriti...hwarrior-online

PGI is either the most corrupt or incompetent developer to survive this long making money. Shows the power of the BT franchise. I hope Russ and Paul go bankrupt though.

No, I don't buy pre-orders, fund kickstarters, or anything like that any more. Burned too many times. I will pay for the game when it comes out.
