Because i would hate that? Like the snowglobe with the mwo logo on it, im freakin playing that game don't also shove it into my face.
Monitor could do ultra basic stuff like flash "heat" when close top over heat and "ammo at 25%" warning. Nothing fancy and it would do.
When you target an enemy you could get a dummy/fake paperdoll appear on a monitor, it wouldnt help but it would look better and it would be more immersive.

I'm not so annoyed by the fact that PGI has given up on the cockpit monitors. I understand that they're a relatively small company (50 employees) and they bit off more than they can chew. They simply dont have the right expertise.
However!
Why do they keep adding extra cockpit monitors on new mechs? Even in the Wave 3 mechs, you see extra cockpit monitors attached to the canopy. They add absolutely nothing to the aesthetic of the cockpit, and everyone at PGI knows that they'll never work properly.
As much as I respect the work of PGI's cockpit designer (I forget her name), the extra cockpit monitors are a continuous, stinky brainfart that has gone on for years now. I cannot comprehend why they haven't removed them by now.

Seriously though, I don't know why they bother to put the monitors in the new 'mechs; they've stated on several occasions that they can't get them working, so why put them in? It's like they want to display their incompetence in the most in-your-face way possible.
Or is it just that "[Autodetect] No Signal" is the unofficial motto of MWO?

It should be a source of embarrassment. Instead, those monitors just sit there as a permanent reminder in every game of "near enough" being considered "good enough".
If MWO was my product, I'd put in a few hours gratis each evening to remove the stain from my workmanship. How hard could it be to at least change the graphic to something less immersion breaking?

One of the best ideas we've seen in some time, and none of you guys comment on this? Really now.

There's one that says ammo, doesn't actually work.
One that says heat sinks, "might" work but I doubt it.

I've got lots of other things to complain about, but being that I paid a pretty decent sum of money for the clan packs this is the one I want to complain about currently.

Could have sworn the screen blinked the locations where there was still ammo left.
Been meaning to look into it but forgot.
