through very mathy thingies i present you the true present hitboxes of:
a ) arctic cheata #iamskilledtier1lightpilotroxxorlol #prenerflightgod
you will notice the void zones, between the hitboxes.
this is no failure in my very mathy thing, no, this zones when hit, will actually make just the ragdoll blink, no dmg calculated.
in addition, when you actually hit the true hitzones, you have to know that they will be maintained by montgomery scott himself, supported by mcgyver and overwatched by chuck norris.
this results in actual hitpoints of an atlas.
no, you didnt quite understand. not the whole cheata has armor of an atlas.
just ... every ... f****... hitzone
you just unloaded your full pinpoint alpha in a standing still cheata?
good luck with that.
when you stare long enough in the abyss, the abyss stares back!
in contradiction we come to the hitzones of a casual light:
b ) the poor jenner
as you see, no matter where, what, when you hit, you hit something.
you just lasered out of boredom a tree?
well, the poor jenner standing behind and scouting and hiding, cored.

Too bad every light wasn't built like an ACH...

A light mech, no matter how good, is NOT over powered. There is a reason why the queue for lights is 10% and 20% for everything else.
I'd like to see a much better presentation of hitboxes.

I don't see many Jenners, Spiders or even Commies going on.
I mean not that hardpoint inflation, overly ECM, sup-par hitboxes and scale doenst mean anything. Right?
If all lights would have brought at the same level of a ACH, for example the Wolfhound is a good start and those are a welcome change.
But when i look at scaling alot of mechs, and i mean ALOT are behind proper scale.
No wonder everyone takes a ACH and or a Wolfhound.
Go figure.

Running the 6SPL Cheetah with ECM is friggin easy mode, in that I've accidentally hit 900+ damage games without effort, when I struggle to do that in heavies and assaults. The Firestarter for comparison only hits 500 damage or so in my really good games, and the Jenner I currently struggle to breach 300.

I play mostly on various lights and can only agree. The spread of an ACH and FS is comparable. However, the ECM, jump capability and firepower make the ACH simply better.
The Wolfie isn't bad either but it tanks not as well as an ACH nor has the jump jets nor the ECM.
Sure, the upcoming ECM change will tone down the ACH somewhat but I still think something is fishy with its hitboxes. Yesterday an ACH which already took LRM damage overheated right in front of me and I put 4 ML squarly in its CT...and it was still yellow.
